Jae's POV
I smiled when they let me inside and got everyone but Lily. "Lily? Lily where are you?" I asked and heard a whimper and a low growl. I grabbed the snarling zombie and told the boys to watch over Lily while I get Noah.
"Noah, I'm back and I have company. Please get everyone else away from the gate. There's a little boy who needs your help. Just tell me when everyone is safe." I told Noah through the gate and gritted my teeth when the infected boy bit my arm.
"Ok. Bring him out." I heard Noah say and I let him out.
Harry's POV
I saw Noah unbandage his hand and hold it out towards the door before telling Jae to let the little boy out. I had no idea what was going on but I felt my heart drop when she came out with a small boy biting her arm.
"Hey. Come here. You won't have to hurt anymore." Noah said loud enough to draw the infected child's attention while holding his hand out. Everything seemed to move so quickly yet I knew what he was doing. I couldn't stop him as the child bit down on his hand.
"NOAH!" I called out feeling my tears start to swell up. I hate this. I hate feeling like this. I hate crying. I hiccupped and my eyes blurred as I heard the growls stop.
"W...what...happened? Why...why does my throat feel so...scratchy?" I heard a little boy speak and widened my eyes in shock. I sniffled and wiped my eyes furiously before looking at the little boy who was just a zombie. "I...how?" I looked at Noah who was bandaging up his hand again but he suddenly stopped.
"Wait...was anyone else bit? I know you've been living life as an infected for a while so I'm not too worried since you can control it, but for someone else who isn't like us...was Lily near him?" He asked and she ran over to her group.
She picked up a little girl who looked like a mini Hailey and brought her to Noah as he pulled up his sleeve after unwrapping the bandage around it.
"It's ok. I won't be mad, I promise. I only want to help." He said to the little girl softly before she finally turned and bit him. He winced but smiled through the tears.
Just like the little boy, she soon regained her senses and gently let go of him. "H...how?" She asked softly and Noah smiled. "Simple. I am the cure." He said and everyone but Jae looked at him in shock.
