  THAT BASTARD!

I swear in my mind, deciding to go straight to his office for my next duties. By the time I reach the hallway before the office, my stomping has died down, pain and regret making their presence known through tears that slide down my cheeks. Stopping myself from entering, I rest my palm softly against the mahogany door. I take a deep breath, calm and compose myself. I wipe my tears, fix up my dress, run my fingers through my hair to settle it down a bit, but I cant bring myself to stand as straight. With a sigh, I push open the door ,happy to find the fireplace is already lit. My sudden entering makes the rider snap his eyes to the doorway. He doesn't greet me first. He just stares. What's new, right?

- Good evening, my Lord. I try to pull a smile for him, but it just doesn't last long.

- Yes, hello. You... You look lovely.

I blush and look away. Despite everything, he still has this effect on me. He keeps staring intensely.

- What's the special occasion?

- Master rescheduled that dinner meeting for tonight. One of the head maids fainted, so I was asked to replace her, and act as the ladies lady in waiting..

Without another word, I move towards the couch, not even bothering to take the fur blanket, and just slump down, head falling back against the back. I push my hair away from my back, spreading them at the sides of my face, and some strands falling over the back, being illuminated softly by the warm flames. I close my eyes, leaving a deep sigh escape my red lips.

... Is it just me, or is he staring more intensely than usual?

- You are tired.

- Very.

We didn't say anything else, continuing to do the things we did before his remark. After an hour or so, I feel cold. I lift my head, open my eyes, and look for that blanket. Just as I spot it, the door bangs open.

- Y/N!!!

Both sisters barge into the room, pausing to briefly glance at the curious head, only to quickly remember what they are here for. They rush towards me, Emily sitting at my side while Alissa falls on her knees in front of me, taking my hands in hers.

- Are you okay?! We were dismissed once the dinner was finished and the men started talking about future business plans.

- You scared us! And dear God, your hands are freezing!

Alissa snatches the fur, covering me with it. I flinched when her hands brushed my leg area.

- ... Let me take a look at them.

- No.

- Y/N.

- No.

- This is not something to dismiss. I used to help Emily all the time when she was a kid, she always got hurt. Now, show me. It's an order.

- ...No. I'm fine. I reply, looking away.

Both sisters looked at each other shocked. I had never disobeyed a direct order before. They both knew that I wouldn't give in on this one. Then, as if sharing the same thought, both of them sprung up and stomped their way closer to the head. Not close, but closer.

- You!

- You horrible, horrible ghost--.. man-.. thing!

- How dare you?!
