We enter into the Sterling's mansion, Alex leads me down a different way.

"Where are we going?" I question.

"My room."

I stop and look at him, as if he's crazy.

I'm not sleeping with him! Does he think I'm desperate? He's insane!

He snickers, "Eva, we're not gonna fuck. I mean... unless?" He waits for my response.

"Um, no! Not even if you paid me."

He smirks, "You saying you have a rate?"

I scoff, remembering what my father said about me whoring myself. Degrading me then selling me out. I stay away from any attention, especially men's. They like visuals and I don't have anything for them to look at.

"No, Alex." I say through my teeth.

He seems amused by this interaction then sighs. "Just to clean your forehead, nothing else Eva." He does a X across his heart, "Promise."

I hesitate but eventually, I nod my head and follow him.

When we get to his room, I look around and it fits his personality so well.

He has gray walls for a calm, sleepy effect with a king size bed in the middle and a big white comforter.

His room is super modern which go figure.

The wall across from the door has a big window with the sun shining through. You can see the city through it and the sky above- it's beautiful.

"Eva, you can sit." He says and goes to his own connected bathroom. I ignore him about sitting down, I go to stand by the window and admire the scenery. I hear him behind me ruffle something in his hand and comes to where I'm standing.

I'm fascinated by this window, being able to see things so thoroughly and knowing what comes next- something I need badly in my life.

"I love this window," as if he has read my thoughts, "I like being able to see the big overview of things and expecting or anticipating, I should say, what can come next."

We both turn our heads to look at each other and for a moment, I swear his pupils dilate looking at me.

He clears his throat, "Come." He motions to the chair near the window and I go to sit.

I don't have a headband on and I'm worried about what he's thinking of me.

He pours the alcohol onto a cotton ball and looks at me again. I feel nervous being so near to him.

I notice his hazel eyes- they're so gorgeous. They're like a book I could be lost in forever.

"It's going to sting if you have a cut, okay?" He's so gentle with me and it's a side I never knew I would long from him.

I nod.

I wince in pain when he applies the cotton ball and he stops. I nod for him to resume to clean up the rest of the blood.

I continue to stare and admire him. I never thought he could have a caring side to him, why doesn't he show it more?

"Finish," He says and looks into my eyes.

I gulp.

I'll never admit anything to this man but I'm intimidated by him. He has an alpha demeanor and carries himself so well- it makes me weak.

Neither one of us breaks our gaze until he says, "I'm really good at staring contests, Eva. You won't win." He smirks.

I break away and laugh at his comment.

"What are we seven? Or something?"

I don't mean to but I put my hand on his shoulder as a gesture and forget that it's him that I'm with.

He looks at my hand and I remove it quickly. "Sorry," I murmured.

He looks away and gets up, "Um. No problem." He starts to walk away, "I have to, uh, call Dr. Murphy. Run some tests- make sure you don't have a concussion."

"Sure," I nod my head as if I agree with him. "Thanks, Dr. Alex."

He turns around and smiles, "My pleasure."
