"Get out.", I say sternly.

"Nah, I think I'll stay, how about you go upstairs and we'll wait for your mom to get home", he says smiling.

"Whatever", I say rolling my eyes, I start to walk upstairs and he pulls me back and slaps me across my face.

"Don't speak to me like that, I am your father", he says raising his voice.

"Let me go!", I say pulling away. I run upstairs and lock my door.

I wait a few minutes making sure he doesn't come up. I pull out my phone and call the police.

My father hit me and I think he escaped from prison, he isn't supposed to be out for another 3 years

I give her my name and information and she sends cops. I hang up and then text Colby.

I hear sirens and hide in my closet.

"Damn it Nicole!", my dad yells.

I hear the front door bust open and yelling from downstairs. I cover my ears and close my eyes, "let this be over soon please", I say to myself.

15 minutes later

I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I punch the person in the face.

"Ow!", I hear a low, familiar voice say.

I open my eyes and see Colby.

"Colby!", I jump up hug him, "I'm so sorry"

He places one arm around my waist and the other on my head pulling me in, "it's okay, your fine now"

I squeeze him tightly and we stand there holding each other for what seems like forever.

I look up at him, "where's my mom?"

"She's downstairs with my mom and the cops. Your dad escaped from jail"

"I knew it"

He loosens his grip and I stay there hugging him.

He chuckles, "come on, let's go downstairs"

I let go of him then look at his face, I see his nose and lip bleeding, "shit Colby your bleeding!"

"I'm fine"

"No, go to my bathroom so I can fix your face"

"Ouch", Colby says holding his hand to his chest. I laugh and pull him to the bathroom. He sits on the floor and I grab a towel and wet it. I sit on the floor on front of him and wipe his lip and nose. After about a minute or two his nose stops bleeding.

He pulls me into his lap and I smile, he grabs my face turning it a little, "why is your face red?".

"Huh?"

"Your cheek is red, did your dad slap you again?"

I hold my head down and he lifts it up, "Nicole don't start this again"

I nod, "yes"

"Why didn't you tell me that earlier?"

"I didn't want you to worry. You know how my dad is when he gets mad"

"I don't care, you should've told me"

"I'm sorry"

He pulls me in hugging me again, "it's okay, did anything else happen?"

"No"

"Are you lying"

"No"

He pulls away and kisses my neck, he starts to kiss me and I lean back, he looks at me confused, "why did you pull away?". I giggle, "your lip is still bleeding a little". He laughs, "oh".
