Prologue

_Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,

Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,

Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,

One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,

One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie._

Then, truth may be restored

_In the Second Age,

the world was collapsing, shrouded by Chaos.

A land of evil creatures, devilry and Dragons.

But then there was the Dark Lord.

And with the Dark Lord, came the Shadows.

Desolation and Sorrow,

Life and Death,

and of course, Fire and Chaos.

Then, from the Chaos, she came,

and found her creator within the Shadows.

Sauron, the Dark Lord, Master of the One Ring,

Athelleen, the Heir of Flames, and Ruler of another Ring,

Forged by an Elven hand.

Echtach, the Master of Havoc, and his legion of undead.

With their Strength, they challenged the living.

Sauron's mighty Ring peeled apart their shaky skin,

The Witch of Chaos and her fearless Dragons weaved great firestorms,

Echtach unleashed a miasma of death and disease within their kin.

The living were close to be no more.

But then, the Dark Lord's fate changed,

Dazzled by his thirst of power, he did not see that his very old friend,

The Master of Havoc, grew distant day by day,

The time had come for the Master of the One Ring reign's to stop,

Bringing Athelleen in his conspiracy, they challenged Sauron.

Betrayed by his most loyal companion,

But also by his own flesh, the only daughter he had ever wanted,

Sauron decided that an act of unfaithfulness would not go unpunished,

The young Echtach was nowhere to be seen after this,

The most bold of us would say he had been erased from Middle Earth,

But no one knew and will know.

The betrayal of his daughter is said to have been more painful than anything,

Breaking the remaining heart's fragments hidden inside Sauron.

He did forgive the young Athelleen, but she had to be punished,

For what she did.

He locked her away from everything, chaining his own flesh inside a forever jail,

Where she will never be seen again.

A/N

This is my own version of the story about the creation of the Rings. Maybe some of you notice it looks like Dark Souls' first prologue and it is absolutely the case! I'm a huuuge fan of the Souls series and you will see more references to this awesome game.
