HUANG RENJUN.

It's only been a month, yet he looks the happiest he's been since before he heard the news that night. The sight of him smiling, laughing, makes my heart swell - if I ignore the slight pang that accompanies it.

Regardless, I couldn't be more proud of him.

My darling Jaemin, you are so unbelievably strong. And I'm sorry I had to leave you behind in this mess, but look how far you've come.

Today, you'll be even happier, I guarantee it.

It's almost the end, I can feel it. Thank you for letting me stay beside you for so long.

NA JAEMIN.

I sigh contentedly as I pull up outside Jeno's house, grinning widely at the latter as he runs frantically out the door, waving giddily.

He jumps in the passenger side and I giggle at his flustered expression, before pecking his lips shyly. His eyes widen a little and he blushes, before pinching my cheeks fondly.

"Thanks for picking me up Jaem! I had to get my car serviced last minute but I didn't want to cancel on you!" He smiles sheepishly at me as I reassure him it's not a hassle, and before I know it we're outside DREAM.

My breath is taken away momentarily as a ray of sunlight passes over him, still amazed at how I managed to snag someone so ethereal.

How did I get so lucky a second time?

Although I've never said it, I know I've fallen past the point of return. I know how deep my feelings are for this man.

I am completely and utterly in love with him and right now, that's all that matters to me.

We're seated down at our usual corner spot and I notice Jeno fiddling, as if he's nervous about something. I stare curiously at him, but figure it's best to just wait it out - he'll tell me when he's ready.

I smile even wider than I already am when I spot my friend making his way over to the table, Jacob in tow.

They share a glance with each other before placing a rather large cupcake in front of me, with a golden fork, and I furrow my brows in confusion.

"What's this for? It's not my birthday yet!" I chuckle, taking in the tense atmosphere as I notice they all seem to be holding their breath.

My eyes narrow in suspicion at Chenle, who tries and fails to stifle an excited giggle, while Jacob attempts to hide his smile behind his hand.

"What have you guys planned? Did you conspire to poision me or something?" I question, quite concerned for my life.

Chenle simply rolls his eyes at me, whining "Just cut it open already!" and my curiosity gets the better of me. I take the golden fork, using its side to gently slice open the cupcake, and I spot something inside it.

A piece of paper?

Even more curious now, I unfurl the paper slowly, spotting a familiar slanted handwriting on it. And tears threaten to spill at the words that appear, my eyes widening in surprise.
