"Were here!" My mother squeals at the top of her lungs as we drive through the hard stone gate and into the campus of WSU.
The campus looks just as good in person as it did in articles and online, I must admit I'm pretty impressed. The buildings are old and cracked but they still look amazing. Hundreds of freshman and parents, saying goodbye to their to children hugging, kissing and crying. A lot of the freshman were dressed head to toe in Washington State University gear, hell even their socks were from the Washington State University gear. I had no idea why I was looking at their feet but I was. Looking around for a certain someone and there she was, Tessa my best friend since I could remember. "Mother look there's Tessa, Noah and Ms Young" I say. My mother fancy's the Young family, I have no idea why but look at them their perfect. Walking up to Tessa she notices me coming her way and drops the box in her hands and runs up to me, we share a tight hug before letting go and saying hello to my mother and James.
After we exchange hellos we set off to find my dorm. I was a bit disappointed that me and Tessa weren't sharing a dorm, but the good thing was we were at the same college so we'd see each other in the halls from time to time. But we did promise each other we'd study together.
"If you don't mind honey I'd like to see your dorm" My mother whined wiping her eyes careful not to smudge the small wing of eyeliner she had on. "Not at all" is all I said, feeling nervous to meet my roommate. "How did we end up in B hall?" I spoke with curiosity in my voice. "Your the one leading us" my mother and James said at the same time.
"Here" I said pointing to a large "C" painted on the wall. "C22.. C24... C28! Here we are" My mother squealed clearly excited.
James looked like he was struggling with the amount of stuff I packed. "Sorry about how heavy my stuff is" I said to James with a smile waxed in my face hiding how nervous I was. "Its alright" James chuckeld, I giggled lightly.
I unlock the door to my dorm. When I walk in I see a girl with pink on the ends of her hair with a girl sitting on her bed, playing a game of chess. "Molly, right?" I asked,
"Thats me" the girl with pink on the ends of her hair spoke. "Your Y/n, am I correct?" Molly had said. "Correct". Is all I answered with. Molly walks over to me and places her arms around my shoulder and pulls me in for a hug. I must admit the hug was quite comforting. After a few seconds we both pulled away.I turned around and gestured my head for my mother to come in.
James placed my stuff on my bed and went back to stand by my mother, they were both standing awkwardly.
"Mother can I talk to you?" I said. "Of course" my mother spoke firmly.
"Is something wrong?" I asked when we stepped into the hallway. "I have a bad feeling about that roommate of yours" my mother spoke with disgust clear in her voice.
"Mother will you please just leave it!" I begged her. "Fine but if anything happens I'm getting your room changed right away!" My mother told me, I know she meant it too.
"Now Y/n I have to go. I'll see you soon, make good choices ok?" My mother said
"Promise" I said holding up my pinky finger.
With that the sound of her heels fated as she walked away further.
