“ I'm just shy.. ” you covered your face while he chuckled

“ you don't need to be, you have a voice of a singer ” he smiled while you blushed because of his compliment, a few minutes you both arrived at the local coffee shop

You were zoning out as you didn't even notice joshua already opened the door for you and was just looking at you, you got back to your senses and looked at him
“ what are you thinking? ” he asked

“ I'm not ready to face my dad yet.. ”

“ look sweetie, you don't need to face him yet. Take your time and no need to rush.. ” he  was holding your hand as he was assuring you that everything will be okay and you believed him but deep inside you knew that your so close in finding out the truth

Time skip, the next day

You were already at the hospital while joshua was getting ready for his surgery, you were at the viewing area where you could see how his surgery is going

He looked at where you were and you gave him a thumbs up, earlier he told you that he was scared and nervous, thinking he would fail but you believed in him

You encouraged him that he'll do great and the surgery would be successful and by just looking at his eyes now, he's nervous deep inside but since your supporting him he felt like he needed to make sure that the surgery will go according to plan to make everyone proud

‘ Craniectomy involves removing a portion of the skull in order to relieve pressure on the underlying brain ’

you both knew that craniectomy was one of the dangerous surgeries performed in the operation table but again, you have faith in him so you kept your eyes locked at him, not to admire his features but to see how he's doing it

Suddenly one of his co-workers spoke
“ That's your girlfriend Dr. Hong? ” he asked

“ yeah.. I don't want to let her down since she's the first one to see me perform surgery in this operation table. ”  joshua said while focusing on the patient on the table, you were able to hear them as you couldn't help but feel happy that he's trying his best

“ you know she's lucky to have you ” one of the female nurses with them replied

“ suction. ” joshua said while focusing on the patient as they focused and did their work

“ no, I'm lucky to have her. ” he glanced at the window where you are as he saw you smiling while his eyes were squinting meaning he was smiling

You didn't even realize how long you've been watching him until you looked at the clock, two hours has passed and they couldn't even get a hold of the skull. You keep praying that the surgery will be successful

Soon, the monitor started beeping. You quickly glanced at the monitor while joshua started guided them and telling them what they needed to do, you couldn't help but feel a bit anxious
‘ you can do it.. I believe in you ’

The person's heart rate was slowly decreasing while his co-workers started losing hope of saving the person but not joshua, no.. by just looking at his eyes. You can see confident and professionalism

Until the person's heart stopped, most of his co-workers had this, I knew it face while you hated it. Joshua was just staring at the body while he glanced at the clock
“ time of death 12:26 pm ”

“ nice try ” melendez spoke while you noticed something on the person's body

“ he's still breathing ” you kept looking at the chest at you started pointing and banging on the window but it's no use since he couldn't hear you
