Nana's POV

It was one of the usual nights with Touya where he took me to a dinner date at an expensive restaurant. After the dinner date came to an end, we called it a day and decided to head back home early. As Touya drove us through the busy night street of the Musutafu City, I looked over at him from the corner of my eyes.

This man seating right next to me on the driver's seat, whose pride and prejudice were as immense as Mt. Everest, was my childhood frenemy and rival; Touya Todoroki.

Sometimes, it made me wonder how much Touya has changed within the last couple of years. Years ago, he was just a little boy playing soccer and hide-and-seek with me and his siblings and now he was the designated successor to the chairmanship of The Todoroki Corporation and Technologies; a powerful business conglomerate that was said to move Japan's economy.

"Do you go there often? That membership club." I asked, referring to the place we went for our dinner date tonight.

"It was my first visit. I joined at the insistence of my business partner." Touya replied.

"You are paying membership fee, aren't you?" I deadpanned. "So wasteful."

I think I saw celebrities there...

It must have been expensive...

"Membership fee, huh..." he trailed off before thinking for a while. "I actually can't remember how much it was. I've been busy with work so lately that sometimes it's difficult for me to remember such miscellaneous expenses each time."

"I see... As one gets older, one becomes very forgetful." I commented, smirking at him. "I can see that happening to you too, Touya. Must be quite troublesome, huh..."

This made Touya's left eyebrow twitch in annoyance while an anime tick mark popped out from the side of his forehead.

"I really sometimes hate you, Nana." He grumbled.

"Thanks to your boastful-I mean kindness I have been eating such extravagant dishes lately." I sighed dramatically and leaned back on the passenger's seat. "I might end up becoming too much a gourmet for my standard of living. Not being a gourmet or appreciating any dish, that's a happier life though in my opinion. Good old days..."

"What's with those gloomy thoughts?" Touya frowned. "Japan's future is dark when the young have such pessimistic attitudes."

"It's thanks to you." I muttered out.

"Huh? Stop being so precocious and take back those thoughts!" he scolded and hit my head lightly with his fist.

"What the hell?!" I snapped, rubbing my head to soothe the pain.

"A girl like you should rather taste luxurious things as much as you can." He stated.

"What for?" I asked.

"Once those with true pride taste the reality they will overcome any hardship to climb up. That's my theory." He smiled at me.

I didn't respond back as I simply huffed and looked away from him.

Only sometimes he acts grown up!

Well, he is a grown up though...

At that moment, Touya's cellphone went off, so he parked the car to the side of the road to receive the call.

"Hmm?" he hummed, glancing at the screen before answering the call. "Hello?"

"Introduce yourself first!!" a cracked voice yelled out from the other side of the call.
