Chapter 8
The sweet smell of carnations was floating in the air. It so was relaxing. I looked at the watch, it was afternoon. I think I can laze around for few more minutes.
Why is the ceiling so small? And why is the wall red? The wall is red! Red! I don't have a red wall I have Ivory white walls with a combination of grey and black. Shit Shit Shit... where am I?
I looked at my hands and feet. Hm no chains. I got to find my phone to get out of here. My purse was on the study table where a lot of designs were sketched. They were beautiful, vibrant and mesmerizing. I looked at the other side of the bed to find a cute picture. It must of the couple who lives here. The guy with perfectly tousled hair was hugging a gorgeous woman having springy brown curls. They looked good together.
Beside the lamp was a book. I turned a few pages till I found the anatomical dissection of a hand. Oooh My God! Do these people kill innocent people and make dresses out of their skin. I think I had heard about this in silence of the lambs. Good looking couple with a hideous secret. I have to get out of here. NOW!!!
The problem is that if I move towards the study table my movements can be seen by the semi-open door. I got up to inspect the room for some diversion. A white cotton cloth fell from my forehead. Oh yeah my head doesn't hurt anymore.
What happened this morning slowly started coming back to me. I fainted but Vic was there to catch me. Someone was coming towards the room so I quickly acted like I have been asleep the whole time. The steps sounded heavy so I assumed it was a guy. He sat on the bed beside me and took my hand. I flinched a little as he tried his power but tried to maintain my composer.
"Nope. Nothing, I can't get in her system. She's locked maybe when she wakes up I could check her again."
There was a heavy sigh. "Alright" it was Vic. I felt so good to know he was here. Oh then the guy in the photo must be his brother. It is really hard to guess which of the 6 brothers he must be. Well he doesn't look older than Vic so it can't be Uriel and definitely not Trace. While my mind tried to figure out which brother would he be, Vic came and sat beside me.
He placed his hand beside my head and bent down low to kiss me. His smell was driving me nuts. Instead of my lips he went for my ear. Nipped it and said "How long are you planning to sleep?" I bit the inner wall of my cheek hard so stop from whimpering.
"How did you know?"
He smiled and replied "You never sleep so still." He chuckled removing the white cloth from my forehead. His eyes softened and his face was plagued with guilt.
"You should eat right, you look pale."
"Oh I maintain a proper diet with protein rich food. You don't have to worry about me." Who was he to lecture me about my health! I was silently praying my stomach wouldn't growl right now. I didn't eat a proper dinner last night and didn't have time for breakfast this morning.
"Why wouldn't I worry about you? You fainted in the middle of the street."
"Aaand what were you doing near my apartment building?" I wanted to sound suspicious like 'are-you-stalking-me' but it came out like 'how-the-hell-do-you-show-your-face-after-yesterday'.
He sighed deeply and rested his forehead on mine. "I came to apologize" he sounded sincere, but then again he always was. "Also what would you have done if some creepy murderer had picked you up?" he scolded me.
