We decided to go to The Metropolitan Museum of Art to enjoy the enormous museum with such a sizeable amount of artwork that it would take people a whole week to enjoy it all. We were going for a bit of sightseeing after having a lovely lunch. Somehow the date had gotten him excited more than I had expected. His bold amorous behavior had taken me by surprise and I was being swept in his happy current unable to take control of the situation.

Tracing the curve of my spine, his hand stopped at the waist with his thumb pressing on the small of my back. Hitting all the right spots was so easy for him, he didn't even have to make an effort. He had tested all his moves already and was an expert at driving my body crazy. He relished the reaction as my hips jerked at his touch. From the sides of his sunglasses, I could see that his eyes were on me.

The juvenile jerk was not going to get the best of me. I slid my hand in his back pocket and grabbed a handful of his ass. A short snicker was heard from the group of teens sitting on the Met's iconic steps. Though they quickly shut up when Victor turned to look at them. The God of Wrath striking down on his subjects that displeased him. His mere presence is so intense that people caved to a defense.

What must it be like to go against him in a fight? If I ever regain control of my powers would I win? I shouldn't be regarding that as a possibility now when I'm leaving. This is just a masochistic goodbye till Zahir is taken care of. I hugged his side, hopefully one day I can atone for leaving just like him.

My apologetic embrace was mistaken as affection, earning me a quick peck on the cheek. His unrestrained show of affection was perplexing. There wasn't a shadow of worry in his attitude. Usually, his over-analytical brain used to be overruled by passion when we were together but today someone seems to have thrown his safeguards away.

We entered the majestic main entrance of the Great Hall through the row of Ionic column. I headed to the Egyptian Art section before Vic could manage to grab a pamphlet. I had come here enough to already have a path decided in my head. He is going to love the temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing. We browsed through the room slowly as Victor told me about Trace's interest in Archeology before choosing his current profession of law enforcement. I can imagine him as a modern-day Indiana Jones being sent out on secret government missions to procure artefacts.

Even though Zed and Xav lived in New York for their education, Victor and Will will be moving back to Denver once their current case is solved. Which means Maroon will be leaving too. To distract myself before the loneliness sets in, I asked Victor about his house in Denver.

"I shared an apartment with Trace but since he's gotten married, I haven't lived there."

"Trace got married?" I didn't mean it sound so insulting but the distain for marriage is quite ingrained in me due to my brothers. Austin's shotgun wedding wasn't really the ideal situation but we don't talk about it much. Hopefully, Trace isn't in a similar pickle. "I pity that girl who married that idiot."

He laughed and searched for a photo of the couple. "Don't say that around Crystal. He married her sister." He showed a large group of people huddled together, barely managing to fit in the frame. I knew the Benedicts were a big family but so did his wife, Diamond. Pointing to each of the members he acquainted me with their names and powers. I mimicked the initial surprise I had felt while reading the report from my informant. Will thankfully hadn't outed me yet.

The family resemblance was astonishing. They were blessed with a classic bone structure, golden brown skin and wonderful chocolate hair. Most of them were standing with angelic dolls fitting their celestial counterparts. Maroon will soon be joining their picture-perfect family.
