A message from an unknown number cropped up on my phone screen. It read 'File sent'. I had been waiting for the information for days. After finding out about Will's injury I had contacted a savant informant to get some data on the Benedicts. I got to know this person over a year ago just before I left America. His information was always accurate and I'm terrified to know the powers he possesses to achieve such precision. As soon as I got home, I excused myself and headed straight for my computer. I had been working overtime since the 3-day vacation I had enjoyed.
I felt a pang of betrayal right before downloading the file. I didn't want to break Victor's trust by snooping on his family but I would like to know if Maroon is going to be in danger being with Will. Her ability to attract danger is not as laughable as I made it sound like. I just need some assurance that the family is as decent as their picture-perfect holiday card must look like.

Even if the abilities were not well defined, I am secure with the knowledge that they hadn't lied about their abilities. Though I can't be very enthusiastic about so much knowledge about their family being available. In no time other savants are bound to find out abut Ron.

The firebug Yves with his soulfinder nabbed a whole collective of savants that had been involved in various illicit activities in an undercover operation. The boy had managed to burn down a whole building. Rechecking his soulfinder's ability I was envious of the wonderful pandemonium the ability of being a time lord can cause. Seeing just their abilities the soulfinder connection doesn't seem apparent. Also looks like Trace got himself a wife!
The last page contained their most destructive fight they had with Contessa Nicoletta. The old lady had managed to kidnap Victor's mother, Phoenix & Sky and held them hostage on her estate. The report read that one of the brother's was injured in a physical altercation and I'm placing my chips on Will being the guy. There were few links available which showed a very public battle between the Benedicts and Contessa Nicoletta. Somehow even the actor Steve Hughes was involved in this. Was he a savant too? A major red flag was the mugshots of the Benedicts being plastered in a newsroom debate. With their names and faces so easily identifiable it was extremely easy to get the information on them.
Their family might not be a safe environment for Maroon or Zara; if I somehow managed to send her to stow her away with Maroon. I don't think I have trained either of them enough to handle goon on a yearly basis. The anxiety of not being able to do anything was making the bile rise up from my stomach. Ron was supposed to be my backup plan. I have promised to protect her too.
