THE WRONG
BRIDE

Chapter Fourteen.

I place the brush in the holder and tie my hair in a bun, before getting out of my room and making my way downstairs. It seems like ages since I saw Dad and spoke to him because I have stayed scooped up in my room since yesterday when I came back from Sebastian's place.

I enter the kitchen and Nanny Esther snaps her gaze to me. She is always in the kitchen. Always.

"Oh dear, I was just about to come get you and check if you are awake. There is someone here to see you" she asks and I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, hoping it is not Sebastian and he hasn't gone to the extend of coming to look for me.

And who said you are that important to him for him to come all the way to look for you?

Well, that is true. Sebastian doesn't deem me to be that worthy of his time, I'm sure of that. Besides, he is getting married soon. To my bestfriend. I have to make sure what happened yesterday, doesn't repeat itself.

"Oh who is it, Nanny? I am not expecting anyone" I say to her, grabbing the tangerine she is peeling.

"Your friend, Sara" she says and the tangerine that was going into my mouth halts halfway.

What is she doing here?

"Okay, Nanny. Thank you" I say and she nods, while I walk to the living room.

As said, Sara is seated in Dad's red sofa, her one leg crossed over and her hands folded on her knees. A typical Sraa posture.

"Sara"

"Em" she says, getting up to face me "I wanted to personally apologize for what happened the last time we spoke-

"There's no need for that Sara" I cut her off and look away "What has happened has already happened"

"No Em" she holds my arm and we both look down at it, before she takes her hand away "The way I spoke to you was absolutely wrong"

"Yeah? You think? Telling me you don't actually know and you are not actually sure if I cheated on my ex-boyfriend or not. While after the whole thing went south, you were the one telling me how much of a dick he is and how he deserved to be castrated blah blah blah. But I shouldn't be surprised, after all, you are getting married to him"

"Em I know that, and that is why I am here, apologizing. And as for marrying him, I couldn't help but fall in love Emerald, that is all there is to it"

I sigh, already tired of the conversation, "Whatever there is to it Sara, you both are getting married, and like I said earlier, what happened has already happened. I've already put it behind me"

"Thank you. Now can we go back to the way we were before?"

"Mhm. Sure" I nod

"Great" she sighs, taking a seat on the couch she was occupying before. "I am holding a dinner party tonight, and I was hoping you could make it?"

"Is that the reason you are here? Because you need me to attend your dinner party?" I ask

As if Sara would ever do anything that won't benefit her
