Sara's POV

"Hey, Sara, have you heard of Sebastian?" Chris asks, poking his head into my dressing room.

"No, why? Where is he? He has to be here by this time, doesn't he? Where is he?"

"Sara calm down. I just came to ask because he hasn't arrived and I can't get through to his phone"

"So keep trying! Call him! Today is our wedding and nothing, I mean nothing should go wrong" I say "What are you still waiting for? Move it!" I snap at Sebastian's idiot of a best friend. Another fool who fell for Emerald.

I'd be damned if I let anything ruin this good day for me.

Sebastian is nowhere to be found, and Emerald isn't here. Could it be..?

No no no. I won't entertain that thought. Sebastian won't run away with her. He is not that stupid to put himself and his entire family in jeopardy. No, he won't do that.

I decide to give Emerald a call, if she picks up, then I can breathe, if not, then maybe I have to commit murder during this whole plan after all.

"Ow! Treat my hair with TLC. Tender, love, and care, do you want to kill me?!" I ask the stupid hairdresser

"No, miss. I'm sorry"

"Sorry for your pathetic self" I mutter, focusing on my call

"Hello" she answers in a groggy voice

"Emerald? Are you seriously asleep at this time? Do you not know what today is?"

There's shuffling in the background before she responds, "Oh shit. I'm sorry. Got so busy last night I lost track of time"

"What were you doing?" I ask "You know what? Never mind that, just get here on time, and by that I mean now!"

"Yeah yeah, I'll be there soon," she says and there's talking in the background, specifically a man's voice, showering her with endearments, before the line goes dead.

That better not be Sebastian.

Another call comes through, and the name on the phone has my heart sinking to the pit of my stomach.

"All of you should leave," I say to the makeup artists in the room "DID YOU NOT HEAR ME?! I SAID LEAVE!" I yell before they all scramble out

I take a moment to catch my breath before responding, "Why are you calling me?"

"Why are you taking so damn long to answer my call?" He questions "You know I am still awaiting my payment"

"Take your time Rufus! Relax. I haven't even married the man yet and you want to claim all the rights?"

"Who said I give two fucks about that scheme of a marriage? After all, everything is fake, from that wedding gown to that imaginary baby in your stomach. You are stupidly obsessed and I could care less."

"Rufus don't you dare talk to me like that!"

"And don't you dare raise your voice at me! Don't forget I know the venue of that damn wedding and I can come there and tear the whole thing down"

"You wouldn't dare"

"More like you wouldn't want to try me, crazy woman. I have held my end of the bargain. You better hold to yours. I'm giving you the end of today to get me my money, in full cash! Or else" he warns and I don't get another word in before the line goes dead.

Damn him!

"Finally! What took you so long?" I ask when Emerald shows up in my dressing room

"Woke up late"

"As if we all don't know that. Go figures!" I say with an eye roll "You are my best friend. You are supposed to help me get ready and yet here you are, here when I'm almost done" I say, feigning hurt.

As if I even need her here. All I need her to do is watch Sebastian and I kiss at the altar as he and I become one.

"I'm sorry"

"Does this have anything to do with the fact that I'm marrying Sebastian? Are you still not over him?"

"Sara please. Don't let these thoughts get in the way of your happy day. Sebastian and I's story got closed three years ago. You and this baby are the new chapters of his life now."

"I'm glad you know that and I'm glad you are not being a bitch about it. That is why I love you. Ever the caring friend, right?" I giggle "Help me with my veil would you?" I say, handing the white thin material to her.

After securing it, she excuses herself.

"Give me a few minutes, yeah, I'll be back?"

"Of course. Take as long as you need." I say and she leaves.

Take a few minutes to know how much of a bitch Karma is for making you realise that princesses like you don't always get the good things in life.

Queens like myself also deserve some of it too.

Emerald's POV

"I'm glad you came," Seb says, pulling me into a room

"We shouldn't be seeing each other" I giggle

"But I missed you"

"You crawled out of my bed this morning"

"Quite, unfortunately. I wanted to be there all day, every day, for as long as I live" he says, tracing his thumb on my bottom lip "This whole charade will be over before we know it, then I can be in your arms again"

"And I'll be right here waiting," I say, before pulling him in for a kiss.

A good luck kiss for the destruction we are about to cause to someone's good fortune that can never happen.
