Derek's POV:

I was driving along the road trying to get home before dark while Faith was asleep. She had rolled down the window allowing a cool breeze to come in and hit my face. Everything was normal and calm until I looked over to Faith who had been looking out the window intently like something was wrong. I started to slow down a bit because it seemed like the right thing to do in the situation but as I did Faith flung her door open and jumped out! She hit the ground smoothly on her feet then started to run as fast as she could.

I slammed on the breaks causing me to come to a screeching break. I jumped out of my car taking my keys with me but by the time I got to where she jumped out I couldn't see Faith or smell her because of the overwhelming smell of blood. I looked down and saw her foot prints leading into the forest and could hear her heart beat in the distance. I started to jog along following the footprints and her heartbeat, I wasn't sure why Faith jumped out of the car like she did but I'm assuming it has something to do with that blood smell. As I ran through the forest the smell of blood got stronger and her heartbeat started to get faster. She was beginning to worry me, then her heart beat went back to its normal pace bringing me a little peace.

Faith tracks stoped at a point in the forest where there was a stream of water, I had to listen for her heartbeat and use that as my guid, its always a hit or miss with heartbeats though sometimes they echo in a way that gets you lost. I had to stop at certain points when I got bit turned around but I was always able to figure my way back. I was stoped once again when I heard Faiths heart skip a beat then pick ups its pace followed by an ear bleeding scream. I didn't have time to sit around and take my time, it was time to just trust my instinct. I ran through the trees just barely missing a few branches that almost took out my head, then jumped over some rocks that almost tripped me, I don't suggest running through forests their not safe places.

I knew I was close to Faith because her heartbeat was getting louder but much much slower, way to slow for me to be okay with. It was only a second before I came up to where Faith was being strangled by a man, I ran up to him and jumped up tackling him to the ground. When we hit the ground he tried to fight me off, he was strong and put up a fight but no one was going to hurt Faith without me getting involved. I grabbed a near by rock and smashed it into his head knocking him cold out on the ground.

After he was dealt with I got up from the ground and wiped the dirt off my face with my shirt I looked over to where the guy dropped Faith and she looked as if she was knocked out as well. I walked over to her and gently placed my arms under her legs then the other right under her shoulders and slowly picked her up. I started to walk back to the car making sure to not move her to much, I wasn't sure what was broken of bruised and I didn't want to cause more damage so the least I moved her the better. About mid way through the walk back to the car Faiths eyes fluttered open but only for a second before she was right back out. We looked right into each others eyes, I wonder if she'll remember any of this when she wakes up.

Once we were at the car I carefully placed her in the back seat with my sweatshirt under her head as a pillow then closed the door and got in the car myself. I started the car and drove off again being careful not to hit any bumps or dips or take turns to sharp, wouldn't want Faith to wake up because I took a turn to sharp causing her to fall on the floor or something.

After awhile of driving we made it back to Faith's aunts house and pulled in then got out of my car. I carefully picked Faith up and started to carry her back to the house, as I was walking up the steps to her house Hope came out with everyone else behind her and they all looked a bit concerned.

"Is she okay?" Hope said just short of a yell.

"She's fine, she fell asleep on the way here I didn't want to wake her up." I lied knowing Faith wouldn't want Hope worrying about her.
