(Shrivan POV)
I groaned as I stumbled out of the car. It was finally time for the camping trip! I was excited to see Krisha, but I was also exhausted because Vani was being really annoying, and kept blasting "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals at the highest volume the entire two-hour car ride, so I could barely sleep. It's also really boring hearing the same song on repeat for such a long time.
It was about a half mile walk from the parking lot to the actual campsite, so I helped carry everything there. Me and Vani set up the tent, while our parents helped bring over the rest of the stuff from the cars. I look around to see who's already here. Harathi's family, Aakarsh and Aakshita's family, and Isha's family are here, but the only one I was even here for hadn't arrived yet.
After everything was set up, we wandered back to the parking lot and set up some folding chairs to wait for Krisha's family and Kavya's family. I collapsed in my chair, wondering when Krisha was going to get here. I see Harathi, Isha, and Aakshita talking to each other over by the tents, so I start making some small talk with Aakarsh, right as a black Infinity pulls up in the parking lot. I recognize the car immediately, but not as fast as I recognize the girl who just stepped out. It's Krisha.
(Krisha POV)
Shrivan. I see him scramble to get out of his chair as I step out of my car. Everyone comes at me, hugging me and welcoming me, since they haven't seen me in a long time, but I just stand there. The one person I want to hug me, isn't. I stare at him, my multicolored orbs frozen on his. I'm about to cry. It's been so long, but I just pretend to smile and laugh. I see him smile widely, but then he just quickly covers it up and sits back down. Huh. That's weird. Maybe he didn't really care about what happened at all. Was he pranking me or something? I began to get so lost in my thoughts, that I didn't even notice that Kavya arrived, until she snapped me out of it.
"Yo, where were you? I haven't seen you in forever," she says, laughing.
"Kavya?" I ask. "Uh, yeah, I was just at home. Chilling and stuff."
I could not tell her what happened. Especially with everybody else around. I don't even know if I'm going to tell her at all.
"What took you guys so long?" Isha asks us, playing with my hair.
"Well, I had dance, so we had to come after my class," I explain.
I had been so excited to come, so that I could see Shrivan, but maybe he's not that excited to see me. I would go and talk to him, but it feels kinda pathetic going to talk to him, if he doesn't want me to. The whole night, he didn't talk to me or even look at me. It was like I didn't even exist. I felt kinda hurt, and once it got to a certain point, I just wanted to go to bed. I told everyone good night and decided to go to the bathroom before sleeping, so I wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night for it. While I was washing my hands, the door swung open. I looked through the mirror's reflection to see who it was. Shrivan.
(Shrivan POV)
She freaks out.
"What the hell are you doing in the girl's bathroom?" she yells, as if she wants to whole world to know.
"Keep it down, would ya? Nobody can know we're in here together," I tell her.
I smile brightly, go up to her, take her hand, and lead her into one of the stalls. I start leaning in to kiss her, but she stops me,
"Why have you been ignoring me this whole night? I thought you didn't care about me," she says, with slight annoyance and sadness.
"What? Of course I care about you," I tell her, reassuringly. "I just couldn't show it because my parents were watching, and the only way they let me come on this camping trip was if I didn't talk to you."
