I woke up ready for the fact it was Monday, but not for classes. I was amazed that my alarm was actually decent this morning, staying on my bedside table. Maybe freezing it made it act right. It took me what felt like way too long to actually get myself out of bed, it's always hard.
'Why can't I be one of those people that just wake up early on their own? Actually, I like being able to sleep in when I can.'
I got myself up out of bed to get dressed. It didn't take me long either because I already know what I have to wear, I've always liked the uniforms because it's less planning I have to do in the morning. I felt like I had to prepare myself for potions today, for whatever reason I didn't really want to have to deal with Snape's antics today. Regardless, I just made myself suck it up and went to class.
I was confused when I saw another kid in class, I'm usually the first here.
'I know I'm not any later than I normally am. Maybe he's just here earlier? Snape can be an ass with the little things.'
He wasn't sitting in my seat so I really didn't care. I sat down and waited for instructions because for some reason today they weren't written on the board. Once the class was full, Snape started speaking.
"Today, we will be discussing the history of potions as well as the range of difficulties." He looked around the class while speaking.
'Great.'
"Potion comes from the Latin word Potio, which translate to beverage. As you know, it's brewed in a cauldron."
'Okay, seriously? Are we first years? What's with the simplicity? We should already know this, are we going to start brewing basic healing potions now?! Come on.'
I don't understand why Snape was going over the simplest things. It's stuff we already know, or what we should already know.
"Potions range in effects, nature, and brewing difficulty."
'Obviously.'
"On the simplest side of the potions list, is the cure for boils."
'Please tell me we are not doing this potion?! I did it in first year!"
"Today, however, we will not being such a potion."
'Thank Godric.'
"Today, since you are such an advanced class, we will be doing an advanced potion."
'Yes! This is exciting!'
"The Polyjuice potion."
'Oh shit.'
I was definitely not expecting him to say that. This potion can be difficult for adults even. Not to mention that it takes forever to brew.
"Can someone explain what the Polyjuice potion is supposed to do?" Snape looked around the room.
No one answered and Snape furrowed his brows, not to piss him off I just raised my hand.
"Yes, miss Y/l/n." He pointed to me.
I stood up from my seat to speak.
"The Polyjuice potion allows the maker to turn into another person that they desire with the effects lasting a couple hours, if brewed properly. However, the effects won't be automatically undone if accidentally done with a part human or animal transformation." I stated.
"Exactly." He didn't say anything else so I sat down. "Tell me, miss Y/l/n. How long does this potion take to brew and what are the characteristics of the finished product?"
