heyyyy so this chapter is super long - to make up for my hiatus!!! and by long i mean reaaaallly long (2700 words). i kinda felt like i shouldve put half of this on the next chapter but i just couldnt stop writing so you're welcome ig

the sun peeked over hyrule's mountains and cliffs as the sky started to brighten ever so slowly. the greenness of hyrule's grass was tipped with morning dew and the flowers wavered softly in unison. you heard the chirping of birds just outside your balcony, as the sun continued to rise and illuminate your room with its warm light through the window where your desk was. 

you slowly opened your eyes and felt drowsy and irritated. you didn't want to work today. more specifically, you didn't want to meet a certain hylian as yesterday's events quickly replayed in your mind. you were confused, shocked even, to see someone you trust act the way he did over a trivial and private thing.

the thing being the relationship between you and the chosen hero to fight the calamity. 

it didn't make any sense in your mind as you remembered judo's quick anger. to be fair, you understood that maybe he just felt left out but that didn't mean he had to take it out on you and further get link's attention which ultimately distracted him from his job. you were now aware that the two probably don't hold any positive feelings towards each other, thanks to you. 

you started to slowly fall into a sense of guilt, what would happen to your friendship with judo? what if anya got involved as well? you remember telling her not to mention anything about link running after you at the ball but that was all you said - you never told her about your relationship or what happened then. 

you sighed, the thoughts circling in your head making you dizzy from all of the recent drama. you stood up from your bed and stared at yourself as you walked towards your mirror. you sighed again and started to get ready for work.

"(y/n)!"

you swiftly turned around upon hearing the princess' sweet voice as she started to walk over to you. you were carrying a small basket full of her clothes with both hands and princess zelda smiled at you.

"oh! i see you've just been to my room, please excuse for the unearthly mess in there - it's a bit hectic at the moment with all the research."

you chuckled a bit and smiled at the princess.

"i can tell! it looks like you're quite busy with the divine beasts and figuring out the piloting system. is there anything you need help with, princess?"

"(y/n)! you know i've told you many times that you can just call me zelda, we're friends after all."

you apologised quickly as hyrule's princess giggled. your eyes glanced over the princess and noticed that she was holding something behind her back, you looked at zelda and raised an eyebrow. she looked a little suspicious...

"zelda? what are you holding?"

zelda gleamed and upon your surprise, she brought her hands forward right in your face and there on her palms, was a small green hot-footed frog.
