the next day, you woke up early. you got dressed into your maid uniform and combed your h/l h/c hair. you fixed your dress, dusting off some dirt and whatnot and exited your room. you walked into the equipment room and grabbed a broom, a bucket full of water and a clean rag. 

you wanted to go clean princess zelda's room, a way to repay her kindness. 

you walked up the stairs (rather slowly due to the heavy bucket) and walked down a small hall. you placed your cleaning things on the floor and knocked on the wooden door three times. 

no answer.

well, she did say i was allowed to go into her room...

you opened the door, and glanced around. there wasn't much that needed to be cleaned except for the floors and windows.

good thing you thought ahead!

you started to get to work, sweeping and cleaning the floor only took about 40 minutes and you were barely sweating. you started to wash and clean the windows and you wiped them with the rag. you were on the last set of windows when your rag got really dirty from the dust. you sighed.

time to get a new one.

you hurriedly walked over to the bedroom door and opened it without looking up, you bumped into something and stepped back. or more-so, you bumped into someone.

you looked up and your eyes widened slightly. 

it was link! the champion and appointed knight to princess zelda. you gasped and link stared at you, his head slightly lowered from your small height difference. 

"m-master link! i'm so s-sorry, i'll just--if you could--can i--"

you tried to get past link, but he blocked the way on accident so you tried going to the other side, but he also unintentionally went that way too. this went on for a bit, until he gently grabbed both of your shoulders and swapped both of your positions around. he was now inside the room and you were standing in the doorway where he stood, embarrassed. you nervously and awkwardly chuckled, looking down.

"you know, you can just call me link."

your head shot up.

"h-huh? oh! yes, right, sorry."

blondie simply smiled at you sweetly and you felt your heart melt at the sight. he had the most charming smile! you stood there, looking into those blue eyes of his as he silently stared into your e/c ones.

link didn't even realise that princess zelda was standing right behind you. she coughed, breaking you and link out of the trance.

"link, i asked you not to go into my room without me. y/n doesn't need any distractions and as a matter of fact, neither do you."

link silently nodded, breaking eye contact with you and looking straight forward at the princess.

you frowned slightly, and stepped to the side so that zelda could get past. she thanked you, and stepped into her room. she smiled.

"y/n! you're quite the maid. perhaps you should be my personal maid!"

zelda gave a hearty laugh and you joined in. link stayed still, no emotion on his face. 

"i don't think that's a real thing, zelda."

"it will be when i talk to fludia about it!"

you smiled kindly at zelda, eyes accidentally catching link's blue ones and you blushed. 

"well, link and i should go. we have some business to attend to...even though i do not want any company."

she glared at link and sighed. she walked out of her room and down the hall. link hurriedly walked after her but to your surprise, he stopped in front of you and smiled a little.

"come by the training ground before sunset."

he then jogged over to zelda, without looking back.

you stood still, mouth slightly agape. you dropped your rag on the ground and smiled widely.
