meeting the champions

the banquet had started, the champions were sitting at a neat white crystal table (gifted from the zoras of course) and were waiting patiently for the service and for the feast to begin. fludia had gathered all of the said services including you, anya and judo. she was allocating everyone to different tables and areas in the large room. of course, you three were the last ones to be called. fludia spoke in a high manner.

"anya, you will stand by the zora table and serve them when asked. as for you two, i have given you the most important job."

you and judo looked at each other weirdly, then stood straight. this is your chance to redeem yourself from earlier!

"you both shall serve at the champion's table."

she then leaned down slightly and whispered.

"i'm sure your empty brains will know how to treat them. and if you fail, i'll shall fire you."

fludia turned up her pointy nose, and walked away to talk to some of the hylian chefs. judo poked his tongue at her and you chuckled. you gently tugged at judo's black suit sleeve and lead him over to the champion's table.

they were sat in front of where they stood before, a few zoras had brought in the table for them. king rhoam sat in the middle, so that he was facing the hall with zelda on his left and two strange looking scientists on his right. in front of zelda was link, who sat next in between princess mipha and the great daruk (who sat right in front of the king). lady urbosa and rito warrior revali sat in front of the two scientists, chatting about whatever they wanted.

you felt your heart beat loudly in your pointed ears as you neared blondie, who was facing you with his back. judo instructed you to stand behind princess zelda, while he stood behind the scientists so that you two were in line with each other. you obeyed (but was nervous because you would be facing link the whole time) and silently walked over to stand behind princess zelda. you watched everyone laugh and smile happily at each other and you couldn't help but wished you were them. every time judo would try to talk to you, fludia would send silent daggers with her eyes and judo would retract his sentence and stand still.

you were watching all the other tables, gazing at the different species and their behaviours. out of all of them, you like the ritos and the gerudos the best. it was fun watching them, you tried to stifle a laugh.

gorons were laughing loudly, practically yelling at each other and the zoras would stare them down from the other table. they ate in a polite manner, unlike the mighty gorons. the gorons ooked like they were at a pub on a summer evening! the rito's were telling each other stories and legends to the little rito children and you awed at the adorable children. the gerudos were eyeing hylian men with disgust and suspicious looks in their bright eyes, but drank alcohol and gossiped with one another.

your e/c eyes looked from table to table and zora to rito, goron to gerudo. you then accidentally laid your eyes on a hylian.

it was, of course, link.

he was staring straight at you, as he gulped down a glass of water. you thought he'd look away, but he didn't. he simply stared at you with those beautiful blue eyes of his.

thump, thump, thump

you felt that same hot feeling on your skin and you started to panic, your palms grew sweaty and before you knew it, you dropped the metal plate on the tiled floor.

the champion's table looked towards you, including the king as you immediately bent down and grabbed the plate. you stood up, face flushed and you looked down to avoid eye contact with anyone.

especially link.

"y/n!"

your head shot up at the soft voice, and you realised it belonged to zelda. she waved you over and you silently walked over to her and stood next to her side.

"y-yes, my princess?"

"i want to introduce you to my friends!"

you nodded slowly and faced the table. your started to get nervous when everyone's eyes laid upon you. lady urbosa whispered something to revali, who replied with a nod and slight smile.

"this is princess mipha and the great daruk!"

daruk laughed loudly and smiled over at you while princess mipha waved gently. you smiled at them both in return.

"nice to meet ya!"

you lightly chuckled at daruk.

"it's an honour to meet you."

princess mipha spoke in a gentle and angelic voice.

zelda then introduced you to lady urbosa and rito warrior, revali.

"zelda has talked about you to me, she seems to like you quite a lot."

urbosa winked at you and you blushed. princess zelda talked about some ordinary hylian like you? you felt honoured.

"whatever, they only met for about three hours."

revali's over confident voice captured you and you felt your heart sink a little. urbosa grabbed his wing harshly and told you 'don't worry about, he's just hungry.'

you giggled and zelda coughed. you looked at her.

"and this is my appointed knight, link, or master link."

your heart stopped as link looked up at you with his bright blue eyes, both of his hands held together and elbows on the table. zelda expected him to just silently nod at you but she was a bit shocked when he turned his lips upwards, forming a closed smile.

you smiled at him and blushed, and introduced yourself. zelda watched the whole scene roll out, eyes watching link the whole time. princess mipha was watching him as well.

"i-i'm, y/n."
