FELIX

After a friendly football match with the team, I walk home alone and worn-out when suddenly I sight Joey coming from a distance.

It's clear as day bumping into her isn't simply a coincidence. Appears like she has been waiting for a one-on-one talk. I get the uncanny feeling she wants to achieve her fiendish objective.

I slow down my pace to give myself ample time to collect together my excuses, but before I can try, she already closes the gap between.

"What an unexpected surprise!" She grins.

"An unexpected surprise truly. I didn't think we would meet on a day like this."

"Well, here I am. How are you?"

"I'm doing very well, thank you," I reply, willing to circumvent the small talk.

"I see. And Agnes?"

I thought as much. Even when I try to stay away from drama, it haunts me everywhere I go, and with Joey is no exemption.

She isn't particularly fond of Agnes – the whole world knows that. Naturally, there's something devious going on in that mind of hers, of course I would know. When we ended our relationship then, my only mistake was giving her any hope we would come back together after we agreed on being friends. I pray she realizes it soon that we are never ever getting back together.

"Sorry I asked. I know it is none of my business, but I'm curious. I heard you're a couple now."

"A couple?! What do you mean by that?"

"But you're always with her, right? You visit her house, you go shopping together..."

This must be a misunderstanding. She is totally getting the wrong idea. If there is anybody who shouldn't be having ideas like this, it's her, and probably the rest of the girls I've dated before, but mostly her. "She's not my girlfriend," I try to explain.

"I didn't say so, did I?"

"But you just said you heard we're a couple." I shake my head. "Forget it."

"Anyway, I wanted to meet you in person since we don't talk in school and you no longer come around anymore."

"I'm sorry about that."

"Oh, don't be. Actually, Rex told me something very intriguing."

"What?" I ask curiously.

"I wanted to confirm it from you before I jump into conclusions. At first, I didn't believe it, but again, knowing somebody like you who can do anything to get what he wants, I had to rethink and ask myself questions."

"About what?" I raise my voice anxiously. That, I didn't expect from myself, but the suspense is killing me. Something inside knows what this is about but I refuse to accept, not until I hear her say what she has to say.

"Can you just relax? It's nothing serious."

"I'm sorry." I try to breathe easy, still, my mind keeps telling me it's not nothing serious.

"Does the title, 'King of the Impossible' sounds familiar?"

For a minute, I practically thought I died, just to blink my eyes and see myself standing alive and healthy in front of Joey. Dumbfounded and lost in my head, thoughts of how horribly my future is going to turn out flash before my eyes.

"Are you surprised?"

"That bastard!" I blurt out.

Rex has crossed the limits this time around. It's not enough that he put me in this situation, he and his brash mouth has finally gotten me into trouble.
