Well today’s the day, the flight is tonight and Cara and I are spending our last few free hours before we leave with Violet at the mall. Don’t ask me why we are even at the mall it’s not like I’m going to buy anything here like I’ll be in Europe in less than 24 hours now for crying out loud! I can do my shopping there and I plan to. But we are here because Violet needs a new outfit for the covens annual summer gathering, every summer Vi’s grandmother hosts a summer gathering for the central Canadian covens. It’s similar to a prom I suppose in attire but the rest of the event is like a meeting with catering and a ball at the end of the weekend.

So she needs 3 new dresses and matching accessories, we are currently in Ben moss picking out the perfect necklaces and bracelets to match her shoes and then we are heading over to a gown shop for the dresses. Backwards order in my opinion but this is Violets way of determining her outfits.

“ Which chain will match my moonstone pendant I have to wear it all weekend. But my mom didn’t say it had to be around my neck all weekend… so I’ll take the large gold chain for my neck, the crisscross gold chain for a bracelet, and the slim long gold chain as well please.” Violet pulled out her mom’s credit card and paid for her purchases.

Walking out Cara mind links me, you know if she just got the dresses first it would make this process a lot faster….  I laugh a little and answer her I was just thinking that! But remind me again why we are at the mall and not out at the lake with our few hours left in Canada? She gave me an annoyed look and answered WE are here because we are leaving for a little over a week and Vi will be here by herself until she goes to the witch thing. We owe her since she’ll be the uno amigo instead of the three amigos.

“Would you two stop that!” Violet harshly whispered into our ears making us both cringe. “Sorry we just think it is so gorgeous outside and we are in a building is all… but we want to spend as much time with you before we leave” I say apologetically hugging her. “Fine, but we’ll be here another half hour and then we can go to the beach for a bit okay?”

“Onward!! Time to kick this shopping trip into high gear!” Cara says marching towards the closest dress store. Vi and I link arms and giggle as we follow her into the store. We head directly to the sale section and start looking for the best ones to send into the change room with Violet.

Forty-five minutes and three stores later We found the perfect three dresses one is a flowy Greek goddess looking dress with a lose gold hip belt thing, a baby blue version of belles dress from the beauty and the beast Disney movie, and the last dress was green with one shoulder strap and was figure flattering with a leg slit and a racer back that showed off her amazingly toned body.

“TO THE BEACH!!” Cara yells as we are exiting the mall and walking towards Violets moms’ car to drop off her shopping bags and so that we can drive to the beach to hangout there for the next hour in the amazing sunny 29-degree weather. All three of us pull out our sunglasses and simultaneously put them on and head off to the beach.

After the hour at the beach Cara and I were driven home and all three of us started crying over how much we were going to miss each other. Carter and Jason suddenly cut the good-byes short. “Alright girls we’ve let you spend forty-five minutes on saying good-bye we REALLY have to go”

All three of us did another giant group hug. “We are going to miss you Vi and we are totally going to send like a bazillion pictures to you!” I said pulling away from her. “Yeah and I am soooo buying you some European chic clothing!” Suddenly the world was turned upside down as Jason put me over his shoulder and started carrying me out the front door. “Hey, I wasn’t finished you big oaf!” I said smacking my fists against his back. “WE NEED to go we are already running 10 minutes late Elana…” I look over at Cara and she had her arms crossed pouting obviously her argument against her brother went about as good as the one I had with Jay did.

Jay sped to the airport and managed to get us there right on time. “Late my ass” I mumbled as I grabbed my suitcase out of the back of the SUV dad sent us to the airport in.

We quickly got through baggage check and customs and headed off to the gate we were going to be waiting in for the next four hours.

“Now to spend four hours in the airport with all the other teens and young adults in the pack… Oh JOY!” Cara said as we found our seats in the G10 gate waiting area.
