"Oh yeah right, see how hes gotten into your head already?" Tony keeps arguing.

"What's your problem with him Tony?" You ask. You've noticed since Bucky moved in with the rest of the team Tony been a little hostile towards Bucky, and never overly welcoming.

"I just don't like the guy," he replies.

"Oh come off it Tony it must be something more than that for you to attack him."

"That was just a cognitive impulse," he huffs in defeat wanting to forget about the subject, "I'm happy for you okay?"

You didn't believe him, so you push him for an answer trying to get to the root of his issue, "your not fooling me, what is it?!"

"I don't want you dating him!"

"WHY?!"

"I think you could do better than him!"

"TELL ME!"

"HE KILLED MY MOM!"

You look at him confused and shocked, "what do you mean he killed...," you cut yourself off fixated on the latter half of his outburst, "wait, my mom? You mean our mom."

"Shit," he mutters and wipes his face, you could see he had majorly fucked up.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY MOM?" you shout at him, "you mean ours, right?"

"Look," he begins, "I didn't want you to find out like this," he walks forward to you.

You take a step back out of his reach, scared if he touched you, you'd let your emotions get the better of you, "find out what?"

He starts off slowly, "you were put into the Avengers so we could protect you," he begins.

"What?" you whisper.

Tony looks at you sympathetic yet scared, the next part hurt him to say, "your not really my sister," he pauses for a moment, "your family name is Odinson, and your real brother is Thor."

You take a moment to process what you had just heard before looking around the room at everyone, "did you all know?" you say through gritted teeth. You could tell by their expressions that their answers were yes. You hesitantly looked at Bucky, "you?"
He hangs his head in response.

A tear escapes your eye as the reality sinks in.

Tony grabs your attention back to him, "just know that this doesn't change anything, I still love you as if you were my sister."

You ignore his attempt at soothing you, but you wanted answers, "what do I need protecting from?"

Steve speaks up, seeing it was becoming too hard for Tony, "Loki."

"It was your father Odin that brought you here when you were younger," Nat explains.

"Then why don't I remember any of it?!"

"Your mother Frigga, was a witch, she altered your memories to keep you safe," Steve reveals.

You had heard enough, everything was too much, too much to process, too much to handle.

You storm off outside into harsh daylight, you didn't know what to think or do as you paced back and forth. Your life and memories had been a lie up until this point.

Then out of nowhere, or maybe instinct you shout to the sky, "odin! ODIN! I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!" you scream, "WHAT KIND OF FAMILY ALTERS THEIR CHILD'S MEMORIES AND ABANDONS THEM!" you take in a deep breath replenishing your lungs.

A huge beam of cylindrical light forms behind you, whisping your hair around with its force.

You turn where you stood to see Odin stood proudly in his golden Asgradian armor. The rest of the team had followed you out of the facility in time to see Odin arrive. They kept their distance Bucky a little closer to you than the rest.

There was no pleasantries to be had, "tell me who i am."

"you are (y/n) Odinson, youngest of three," he pauses and adds, "my only daughter."

"is what they tell me true? Did my mother alter my memories?"

"It wasn't your mother but the person who did do it, did it to protect you," Odin reveals.

"Why?" you didn't need to add context to this question.

"I was told with your powers you would be used to destroy civilizations, planets even your own home, my kingdom."

"Powers?"

"You are part Demi Goddess part witch, with your powers being rooted in the very soils of Asgard, making you more powerful than myself."

"They told me," you look towards the team, "that i was in hiding from Loki."

"Not exactly, however I knew if i told them this they would keep you safe," he puts simply, his voice sounded more caring.

You hadn't noticed but Bucky had started to walk closer to you, still keeping his distance but now he was only an arms length away.

"Why come to Earth and tell me all this now?"

Odin slowly starts to walk towards you, "i thought you may of been in danger."

In that moment Odin's voice seemed to of changed, it was lighter and more sincere.

Suddenly your grabbed by your arm and pulled backwards behind Bucky, a quick fire blast from Tony soars past your left side before hitting Odin who stumbles backwards, the blasts creates small plume of smoke around him. As the smoke clears Odin was nowhere to be seen and stood in his place was Loki. You felt a wash of emotions when you saw him, a feeling of joy and safety but before you could form your thoughts Bucky springs into action and lands a punch to his face, sparring with him, ultimately pushing him backwards away from you.
Nat and Steve run up to help, you as the commotion was happening you realized one thing, Loki wasn't fighting back, every punch and kick that was directed to him was blocked and not returned.

You find an opening in between the fighting, "wait!" you say standing between the Avengers and Loki.

You turn to the team and although you were talking to all of them you locked eyes with Bucky, "he's not fighting back."

You turn to Loki, "i feel like i know you," you try and elaborate as much as your broken memory would let you, "like i know you more than what I've been told, i," you scrunch your face unable to connect your emotions with a memory, "I cant, i don't know why."

Loki looks at you with a soft smile and a hand outstretched, "i can show you I am no threat to you, if you'd like me to?"

"How?"

"I can unlock your memories, in parts."

"Don't fall for it (y/n) he will tell you whatever you want to hear to get what he wants," Tony says from behind you.

You study Loki's face before turning to look at the team, "i cant explain it but i trust him, and if you cant trust him then trust me."

You look at Bucky, "please let him try."

Even though Bucky looked displeased he nodded his head once in acceptance of your wish, he knew what it was like to have his memories taken and wouldn't stop you from regaining yours, "fine," he says as he walks up next to you and takes your left hand in his right, "but I'm staying right here."

You smile at his over protectiveness and squeeze his hand in thanks.

You looked back to Loki and nod.

He cautiously reaches his index and middle fingers up to your temples, you close your eyes as his skin touches yours creating a small concentrated green light on either side of your head. It takes a moment as you feel him searching your memories for you. Suddenly your head is filled with voices and images of your childhood, you and Loki laughing and playing together as kids, you and Thor competing to see who was stronger, your mother showing you magic, your father training you. Your last image was of you being taken to the Avengers tower by Odin.

Loki moves his fingers from your head his eyes watching you expectantly, Bucky rubbing his thumb over the top of your hand in comfort as a tear escapes your eye. Loki glances at the soldiers affection to you but doesn't comment.

"You okay Doll?" he asks worriedly.

"Yeah," you say softly as you blink your eyes back into focus, "he's telling the truth, he's not here to hurt me."
