Today's the day. Today is when Harry, Ron, Hermione and I get the stone and stop the return of Voldemort(Harry taught me that if we avoid using his name it makes him appear more powerful than he actually is).Merlin's beard, this is the opposite of the future that I was meant to have but somehow feels right. This iswhat I'm destined to do. Everything happens for a reason and I am finally starting to understand why I wassorted into Hufflepuff. Tonight we are going to be victorious, I can already tell. Nobody knows what we aredoing except for us, I know that if I told anyone else they would try and stop me. However, I think Malfoy issuspicious. Whenever I see him he stares at me, making me uncomfortable.I spend the majority of the day with Hannah and Susan, I am aware that if we are unsuccessful I may neversee them again. Furthermore, I make sure that I spend some time with Cedric in the evening and hug himtightly before it's time for bed. I'm scared but I can't be overwhelmed by fear, I must stay loyal to my friendsand do the right thing. Hufflepuff is where I belong and tonight is my opportunity to prove it. I know the plan, Ihelped conceive it. We put the dog to sleep, go down the trap door and work together to get the stone. There'sfour of us and one of Snape so logically we should get there first. On the other hand, we are young and Idoubt he'd let four first years get in his way. However, I must not think about that. I cannot be afraid.

Lying awake, I wait until everyone in my dormitory is asleep. Once I know that this is the case, I quietly andnervously leave to meet the others. Infiltrating the Gryffindor common room is easy, I can't believe all theyhave is a password. Hufflepuff has the best security system, in fact.Harry, Ron and Hermione tried to get in once and failed miserably. When I came out that day I saw themcovered in vinegar, looking very annoyed. As I enter the common room, Harry, Ron and Hermione look astonished.'Bloody Hell, how did you get in here?' Ron asks mid-gasp.'Not my fault that you have a bad security system.' I say jokingly. The other three sigh and we all leave thecommon room and go to save the stone. Eventually, we get to the third-floor corridor where the stone isguarded. Unfortunately, Fluffy, the three-headed dog is already asleep; this means that somebody else washere first. Quickly we enter the trapdoor and go to find the stone. Luckily the majority of the tasks play to ourstrengths. For example, the first trap is Devil's Snare. Quickly I remember that fire will kill it as I am skilled in herbology. Harry is the youngest Seeker in a century, this comes in handy when one of the tasks involvescatching a flying key using a broom. Hermione excels at a logic puzzle involving different potions, Harry,Ron and I still don't fully understand how she got the answer but we are all extremely overjoyed that she did.Our luck increased when we were presented with a giant wizard's chessboard, Ron is amazing at wizard'schess. In fact, he's the best player that I've ever seen. We all take our positions and listen out for Ron'sinstructions. Almost immediately we learn that this game is exactly like wizard's chess, including the fact thatthe pieces get destroyed when they are caught. Playing the game, the outcome is unclear. The four of us try toremain positive until Ron informs us that the only way that we can win and get to the stone is if he sacrificeshimself. Obviously, when he says this Harry, Hermione and I are distraught, desperate to think of anotherway. However, we all realise that Ron's right. None of us wants him to do it. My friends accept it quicker thanI do, however. After a while of arguing, I am finally convinced that it has to be done.People say that during an event that you can't control the world goes into slow motion. This time that wasdefinitely the case. Urgently, Hermione and I go over to him. Hermione decides that she will take him to thehospital wing. I desperately want to go with her however she reminds me that if I, a Hufflepuff, am around it would look suspicious as I must have been out of bed. Whereas, Hermione would be able to bluff her wayout of it by saying she heard a scream in the boys' dormitory. She also says that I should wait at the entranceto the next room in case Harry needs help. Waiting at the door I hear lots of noises that fill me with dread, eventually, I peek around and look into the room. To my surprise it is not Snape I see on the other side; it isProfessor Quirrel.'Who's hiding? I can hear you!' A voice calls.Timidly I step out, if I can serve as a distraction then Harry can do what he has to.'Who are you!? Answer me!'Bravely, I say:'My name is (Y/N) I'm a student and I am not afraid of you whoever you are!'I hear a malicious laugh followed by the words:'You're not afraid of me! Let me see this girl!' With that, the man who I'd always thought was just my timid defence against the dark arts teacher turnsaround and reveals that he has had Voldemort on the back of his head for the entire school year.'I must be mistaken!?' The so-called 'Dark Lord' says obviously enraged. 'You look like a (L/N) but...' While Voldemort was distracted Harry had grabbed Professor Quirrel to try and will hold him back, however instead of simply restraining him this action burns him. Once he realises this Harry does it againuntil eventually Quirrel is gone. Unfortunately, Voldemort then shoots through Harry causing him to collapse.Taking him to the hospital wing I quickly realise that it is 6 o'clock which I guess is slightly lucky on my partconsidering that I won't be caught breaking curfew. After I have made sure Harry is okay, I am forced toleave the hospital wing but I can't stop hoping that he'll be alright.

To my dismay, Malfoy stops me on my way to visit Harry and Ron after classes.'Where are you going?' He sneers.'My friends are unwell and I am going to make sure they're okay. I'd much rather be there than with you.'I answer honestly.'Is that Potter? Your boyfriend.' He taunts'He's a friend.' I correct him before pushing him aside so that he was no longer in my way.For some reason, I can't help but wonder if there was a hint of jealousy in Malfoy's voice.Do I want there to be a hint of jealousy in Malfoy's voice? That doesn't matter. Now is not the time to be thinking about that. I have to focus on visiting my friends, whowere brave enough to sacrifice themselves for the wizarding world last night.
