Love Like This

I got up as usual, 7am, I did my hair and my make up, being 16 was just the same thing every day, I just couldn't wait for it to be over, 234 days left.  I text my best friend Heather to say I'd be there at 8am to walk to school as I usually did. Heather and me met when were 13 both new girls at school, we instantly clicked and we were inseparable. We had so much in common and got on great, I slept over hers, she slept over mine, we were never apart, obviously the rumours started that we were more than friends but we laughed it off. 

Our looks were different, I had long black hair, blue eyes, I was tall, slim and I liked dark colours, Heather on the other hand had long brown hair, brown eyes, slightly shorter than me and an average build but loved light colours. 

We were both in Year 11 our last year of school and we both applied for the same college, doing the same course. I never got sick of her being there because we always had each other. 

Both of us had boyfriends and we went on double dates, my boyfriend was in college already, his name was Jake he was taller than me, athletic, brown hair, blue eyes, he was really hot! We got together last year when he was in Year 11. 

Heathers boyfriend was a year younger he was called Ryan he was blonde had green eyes and wore glasses, Heather adored glasses on a guy, he was taller than her despite being 15 and her being 16, he was cute but not my type. 

By 7:55am I had left my house, my Mum was in the kitchen making breakfast for my younger sister, there was quite a large age gap between me and her she was born when I was 10, her name was Faye, my Mum liked fairies and Fay meant that so she just added an E!

My Dad was at work by 7am so I would see him when I got home. 

Everyday was almost the same other than weekends. As usual I got to Heathers at 8am, as usual she wasn't ready, as usual one of her siblings let me in, Heather was the oldest girl of six children she had one older brother, three younger sisters and one younger brother, I loved her family and they loved me, I did once have a crush on her older brother but that never went anywhere. 

I was sitting in Heathers living room talking to her youngest sister who was the same age as Faye when she ran in in her bra and skirt and said "Meg, I will be five minutes I promise!" I just smiled and replied with "I know!"

Heather was beautiful, inside and out, she was so loving and would do anything to protect her friends, we had a small circle of friends but me and Heather were the closest. 

We finally left Heathers at 8:25am which gave us half an hour to walk to school. We stopped at a local bakery to get a cup of hot chocolate and a cheese toastie which we would eat and drink before we got in to school. 

We arrived at school five minutes early and went to our tutor room. As we did every day. Nothing ever changed, well that's what I thought. Things started to change that day.
