Heather
That day at school was different me and Megan went into home room and there was a new girl, in the three years we had been there there was no new kids, living in a small town it was rare you'd get a lot of new kids at school. Me and Megan were new at the same time, our Dad's worked at the same place. The new girl was stunning, she has waist length blonde hair, sparkly blue eyes and was slim and tall, all the guys in our form class were staring at her, her name was Isabella and went by Izzy. I looked at her like I wanted to be her, I didn't really want to be her, I was happy with who I was.
During the day me and Megan had a few different classes so we caught up at lunch time.
"So what are you doing tonight?" I asked her although I already knew the answer.
"I have to pick Faye, but the same as everyday, do you want to come over for dinner tonight?" Megan was twirling her hair, she did that a lot, it was kind of cute.
"Yeah, sure what you having?" I replied, I loved going over Megan's because my family was so big I just felt a bit crowded.
"My Dad said he was going to pick up Chinese food so I'll just ask him to double my portion!" Megan seemed a bit down compared to her usual perky self.
"Hey, Meg, what's up?" I asked knowing my best friend.
"Me and Jake haven't really been getting on, I mean it's not over but it feels like it will be!" Megan was almost crying, I gave her a hug and let her cry on me, I hated seeing her heart broken!
Izzy came over and made a snide remark "I guess you are the lesbos in the school!"
"No, me and Heather are best friends, not that its any business of any ones!" Megan said
"Right, well I think I will avoid you in case you want to be more than friends I don't want you after me!" Izzy said
"Oh my god, that's pretty homophobic!" Megan said to me as she sat next to me.
"If I was a lesbian, I wouldn't go for a girl like her, I'd go for a girl like you!" I instantly regretted saying it so I added "If I was a lesbian!" Megan laughed and gave me another hug to say it's ok.
School finished at 3pm so we headed to the infant school to pick up Faye and walk back to Megan's house.
When back there we got changed, I borrowed some of her clothes because we wore the same size even though she was thinner than me. We always got changed in the same room never caring if we saw each other without clothes we were both girls it was natural.
Megan's Dad got home at 6pm with Chinese food as said and plated it up and instantly knew I was there because Megan had asked for two lots of duck in plum sauce with egg fried rice.
"Nice to see you here Heather." He said as we sat down to eat.
"Nice to see you too Mr Hughes, thanks for letting me stay for tea" I replied
"Heather, I've told you before, call me Barry!" He said sternly
"Sorry. My parents still have Megan call them Mr and Mrs Johnson except my Mum as she's King now!" I didn't like talking about my family that much because I was actually the only one from my Mum and Dad the rest of my siblings were half siblings.
"Heather, do you want to sleep over tonight, I know it's a school night but I am going to wash Megan's blazer and I could wash yours too, if you want to stay?" Sarah, Megan's Mum asked.
"Yeah, sure. Meg can I borrow some PJs?" I asked, Megan was twirling her hair again.
"Of course. Mum, Dad, can I please be excused?" Megan asked
"Yeah, you ok Meggy?" Barry asked concerned for his daughter
"It's nothing!" Megan said and went out the room.
