You feared lies, yet you were given a family of liars.
This small family of three promised never to leave each other's side. A human bard boy, a tiny wisp of the wind, and you had promised to remain inseparable- to form a family from those without f...

SCENE I
"Well hello there, friends~!" Surprisingly, upon entering the abode, Venti beamed with a gleeful aura, even after being made aware that you were in the room. "How's everyone's day going?"
You rolled your eyes, certainly hoping he would notice it.
"You're sure in a good mood." Paimon retorted, just as shocked to see the bard acting so peppy as you were. Just yesterday the two of you were screaming at the top of your lungs at each other, with both you and him visually repulsed by just each others appearance. So what's he acting all friendly for all of a sudden?
"He definitely has some sort of ulterior motive."
That was the only logical conclusion that you could come to. But despite not wanting look at him— or even think of him, you couldn't help but watch his every move. As he gracefully trotted over to the knight and his sidekick, and not so gracefully clinged onto the sidekick like she was some sort of stuffed child toy, you just couldn't take your eyes off of him.
After he opened the door, the moment his figure entered your line of sight your heart sunk to the bottom of your stomach. Not because you didn't want to see him, but just because you reminisced the past every time you saw him, and with this controversial past of yours, you were forced to pretend like you didn't want to see him— when maybe you actually did.
It was a mix of fear, longing, suspicion, nostalgia, and probably some more feelings that you couldn't name. You weren't sure which of these emotions were the strongest, but together they were all so overpowering that, honestly, you just wanted Barbatos to leave.
But, he was so busy flippantly teasing the vulnerable Paimon, that he failed to see what his presence was doing to you. And unfortunately, he would continue to be this in unobservant for awhile, whether it was on purpose or not.
"How are you feeling, Y/n? Better?" Finished torturing Paimon, his attention now focused on you, with his emerald orbs soaking into yours.
You jolted, feeling slightly uncomfortable at his sudden concern, definitely not missing the fact that he finally used your real name. Upon noticing his unchanging gaze, you quickly looked away, trying to calculate what he could possibly be trying to achieve by all of this nonsense. In the end, you didn't even bother to respond to his question, for you felt he probably didn't truly care.
Going unnoticed by you since you were deep in thought, Venti swerved around the table from where Paimon was to you, and welcomed himself onto the empty wooden seat to your left.
