Chaeyoung gulped as the two best friends finished their photo session. It was time, to meet Jennie and be part of the Christmas celebrations. She had seen throughout the day, all the employees working extra hard, and making the place look like a winter wonderland.
The Christmas tree, which was something that Chaeyoung noticed near the reception behind the bon fire place, was decorated beautifully. It was tall, and by tall, she meant it was around twenty feet. The golden star on top shone brightly, and it kind of made Chaeyoung miss her usual celebrations back home.
Are people really noticing my absence? Chaeyoung wondered, even though it had only been less than a day that Chaeyoung had landed in Paris. Nevermind it, I'm here to calm down, not worry about people.
She saw Lisa standing a little far away from her, who waved her hand and called Chaeyoung over to where she was standing. Smiling to herself, and shaking off thoughts, Chaeyoung walked over to Lisa.
"Where'd Jennie call you?" Lisa asked, and Chaeyoung raised her eyebrow at Lisa, chuckling a little.
"Jennie? No more Jessica?" Chaeyoung asked, giggling lightly.
"Nah, I can't get my bestie's wife's name wrong, right?" Lisa asked, looking at Chaeyoung teasingly. And now now, because of Chaeyoung's light complexion, her blush was prominent on her face, which made Lisa laugh in victory.
"Shut it, Lalisa." Chaeyoung tried to speak in a scary voice, but it didn't affect Lisa at all. "Behave yourself."
"Yes mom." Lisa answered, mocking Chaeyoung's behavior.
"I'm going to go meet Jennie." Chaeyoung whispered slowly, and Lisa nodded now. "Stay here. I won't take long."
Lisa put on her serious face and leaned into Chaeyoung's ear and whispered, "Don't do the nasty." And she stood straight once again, like whatever she said was a perfectly normal thing to say.
Chaeyoung rolled her eyes, and made her way to meet Jennie, behind the kitchen, where they had decided to meet. More like, Jennie asked her to come, but Chaeyoung wasn't complaining.
She stood in front of the door which said 'Staff Only' and contemplated whether she should go in or not. Remembering her manners, she decided to just stand outside and wait for Jennie. Should she text her? Nah, she'd seem too desperate.
Alright, I'll wait.
Jennie walked out from the other side, not from the door. She was dressed in a simple white dress, which fell till her knees. Her hair was parted sideways, and slightly curled, making her brown locks shine. And to top it off, her makeup was close to non existent, the only thing which caught her eye was the deep red lipstick.
And now Chaeyoung was sure that she was staring at Jennie, if not drooling. She tried to regain herself, before she cleared her throat.
"Hey Chaeyoung." Jennie said slowly, smiling wide.
I'm dying oh god. "Hey, you called me here?" Chaeyoung asked, trying not to stare at Jennie.
"Oh yeah." Jennie giggled a little, before bring her hands out from behind her back. It was a small pouch, similar to the one Jennie had left in front of Chaeyoung's room earlier.
"Merry Christmas, Chaeyoung." Jennie held out the pouch in front of her for Chaeyoung to hold, and that's when it struck her.
It was Christmas, and Chaeyoung had no gift for Jennie. Chaeyoung panicked immediately, feeling nervous. Jennie was standing in front of her with a Christmas gift for her, and she had none for her? This was the most embarrassing thing that had ever, ever happened to Chaeyoung.
"T-Thank you." Chaeyoung said at first, and then accepted Jennie's gift, holding the divine smelling cookies in her hand.
"And I'm sorry...I don't have a gift for you." Chaeyoung hung her head down, and heard Jennie giggle.
"Why would you have one for me?" Jennie spoke in a tone, like it was obvious that Chaeyoung would forget. Before the younger could say anything, Jennie cut her off. "C'mon, let's go. I'll make you meet my friends. That is, if you don't mind."
"Yeah" Chaeyoung whispered slowly, and then looked at the pouch in her hand.
"Are these cookies?" Chaeyoung asked, and Jennie nodded, feeling somewhat proud.
"I baked them." Jennie said, looking at Chaeyoung hopefully for her reaction. "Not to brag, but I've been told that my cookies taste nice."
"That makes it even better..."Chaeyoung whispered to herself, and then looked at Jennie again. "Thank you so much, this means a lot to me."
"You're welcome! And c'mon, I'll take you to my friends now."
