Harley's pov
October 6th
Wednesday

Today, I was volunteering at Evie's school like I do every day at lunch time. I used to find it boring having to have lunch with kindergarteners everyday but now I love it because it's the only time I get to see Evie. I walk into the classroom with my lunchbox in hand and a smile on my face with another girl from my grade. I immediately see Evie wiggling out of her chair on the other side of the room to get to me. Once she reaches me, I lift Evie into my arms and hug her so tightly, Mom always says to give Evie a hug from her so I hug her for an extra amount of time. As I loosen my grip on Evie and put her on the floor, I notice how messy her hair is, "Evie, who did your hair?" I ask, following her to her seat to eat lunch.

"Melissa," she said, popping a strawberry in her mouth from my lunchbox.

"Who?"

"She's the lady I'm staying with."

"Ah, I understand," I said, letting her take the cookies from my lunch. I then remembered that Mom had put a sandwich in my lunchbox for Evie that she told me to give her, (my mom has a lot of extra time on her hands now), "Here," I said, handing the sandwich to the little girl, "it's from Mommy."

"Yay, she hasn't forgotten about me," she said, unwrapping the sandwich from its plastic wrap.

"Of course she hasn't forgotten you. Carina and Mom ask about you all the time and you get to see them tomorrow," I told her.

"Really?"

"Yeah," I laughed, "Come sit here," I said, tapping my leg for her to sit in my lap. I lifted her onto my lap, wrapped my hands around her and wrested my chin on top of her head before starting to talk to the other kids on the table.

"I love you, Harley," Evie said before I had to go back to school.

"I love you too, Eves," I said, hugging her one last time before leaving the room.

Thursday

This week we get to see Evie on Thursday and Saturday so we hadn't seen her since she left last week. We were meeting Jessica at Evie's school and taking her to the park for an hour.

We got to the school at 3pm; Carina linked her fingers with mine as we made our way to Evie's classroom. I had missed her so much, and to make it even worse Harley was seeing us but wasn't allowed to tell us anything because it would be classed as unfair. I just wanted my baby to come home.

At 3:15, Miss.Kepner appeared in the doorway and a stream of little kids poured out of the room. When Evie saw us her eyes lit up and a sparkly smile spread across her face, "My Mommies!" She squealed as she ran towards us, falling into our arms where Carina and I were crouched on the floor. "I missed you," she said, one arm around my neck and one around Carina's.

"We missed you too, bambina," Carina said, rubbing Evie's back with her hand.

"Am I going home now?" Evie asked excitedly.

"Not yet, baby. We're going to the park and then you'll go back with Jessica," I explained, pointing to Jessica over my shoulder.

"No," she whined, "I want to go home."

"I know. But for now, let's go to the park. Do you want me to carry your backpack?" I asked.

"No, I've got it," she said, guilt written all over her face.

"What's in there?" Carina asked.

"Harley's puppy dog," she said mischievously.

"Oh my goodness," I laughed, "You are precious," I said, taking her hand in mine and walking her towards our car.

In the park, we sat on a bench next to the playground and Jessica sat on the next one watching us. We offered for Evie to go on the playground but she didn't want to, she just wanted to sit with us and talk to us. "Have you seen Harley at lunch?" Carina asked the little girl laying across us.

"Yeah and she gives me her cookies and Mommy's sandwiches," she smiled proudly.

"Her cookies?!" I said sarcastically.

"Yep," she said smugly.

An hour later, it was time for us to go and Evie to go with Jessica. "No! Just take me home with you!" Evie cried when we were saying goodbye.

"Next week you'll be able to come home," Carina said over Evie's sobs.

"I want to go now," she sobbed, tears streaming out of her eyes and her body shaking.

"Evie, you need to calm down or you're going to make yourself sick," I said, lifting her into my arms and swaying to try and calm her down.

"No no no. Take me home. I want to see Harley and sleep in my bed and play with my toys," she cried, writhing around in my arms.

"Evie Andrews," Jessica interrupted sternly, "You need to-"

"I'm just called Evie!" She yelled, slapping her hands against her thighs and then balling up her fists.

"Evie. You need to calm down and say goodbye to Maya and Carina so we can go," Jessica said, taking Evie's hand and pulling her away from us.

"Bye, bambina," Carina said, waving weakly as Evie was dragged away from us.

"My mommies," Evie faintly sobbed, looking at us over her shoulder.

Monday

At the end of school, Miss.Kepner opened the door and I ran out of the door, hoping Maya and Carina would be there. When I got out, it was Pete and Jenny standing there. I hated them. I missed my mommies and I wanted them to come get me. Pete and Jenny waved to me when I went towards them, "Hey Evie," Jenny said in her baby voice.

"Hi," I replied, holding the straps of my bag and desperately wanting to get Harley's puppy out of my backpack.

"We're going to take you to see our house where you'll hopefully live," Pete said. I don't want to live with them. Why would I love with them? Why can't I live with my Mommies and my sister?

I went in Jessica's car and she followed Pete and Jenny to their house. When we got there, Jessica pushed me inside and Jenny lead me upstairs to a pink bedroom with books on the walls and toys on the floor. My favourite colour is yellow. I like my room at home. These toys are boring. "What do you think, Evie?" She asked in her annoying high pitched voice. I just shrugged as I stood in the middle of the room.

"I want to go home," I said under my breath, "Right now."
