The Past
Hi, my name is Elizabeth and this is the story of my life, instead let's start off at the beginning. No not when my parents met or had that type of fun... but the time where my simple life changed.
~🌸~
A small child runs down the street of the small village, rushing to get home to her family after playing with her friends in the field just outside of town. "Woah slow down there Elizabeth" a man said as he picked up the girl known as Elizabeth, spun around once and placed her down. "Sorry Mr. Dale, but I have to get home. My mother is visiting" Elizabeth says as she waves to the man and continues to run "tell your mother I said hello and that she should stop by for some food before she leaves" Dale says as he waves back at Elizabeth "I will."
Elizabeth slows down as she reaches her house, she takes a deep breath and opens the door to see her grandparents making lunch. It was the middle of the day so there was plenty of time before her mother would show up, but she still wanted to have everything ready seeing as her mother hadn't visited her for a few months now. "Grandma. Grandpa. I'm home" Elizabeth says cheerfully "welcome home little angel. Come, wash your hands and get ready for lunch. Your mother is going to be here in a few hours" her grandfather said as he looked in Elizabeth's direction.
Elizabeth smiles brightly at her grandfather and walks over to the sink and starts to wash her hands, while she is washing her hands Elizabeth thinks about all the fun her mother and she could have while she is there. After she finishes drying off her hands her grandparents have finished making lunch and sat down at the dining table "lunch is ready little angel" Elizabeth's grandmother says as she motions for her to come sit. Elizabeth smiles brightly and rushes over to the table, during their lunch Elizabeth talks with her grandparents about what she wishes to do with her mother once she arrives.
Hours go by and Elizabeth's mother hasn't come to visit yet "maybe she is in traffic or settling a dispute with some villagers" Elizabeth says to herself, trying to think positive about her mother being late to the visit. But her grandparents are worried that her mother won't be showing up this time. A few more hours go by and the sun is starting to set, but there was no sign of her mother "she's not coming... is she" Elizabeth says softly as she gets off of the chair outside of her house and looks down.
She opens the door when she feels as if something is wrong, Elizabeth looks around trying to see where this feeling is coming from; but right as she turns around an explosion goes off in the center of the village. A roaring fire forms and Elizabeth can hear screaming from the villagers, Elizabeth runs inside to tell her grandparents what is going on. But when the door closes she is greeted by a man in all black, holding a diamond sword to her grandmother's neck "grandma!"
The man and the grandmother look at Elizabeth "so you're the kid...I would have thought you would have hidden your magic seeing who your mother is" the man says as he stabs the grandmother in the stomach and drops her. The man starts to walk towards Elizabeth until the grandmother grabs ahold of his leg, wrapping her arms around it, "leave her alone... she's just a child..." Elizabeth's eyes widen when she sees the state of her grandmother. She looks around to try and find her grandfather in the room, only to see him covered in blood and not moving near her room "no..." Elizabeth whispers as she starts to tear up.
"Elizabeth, my sweet child... run. Run away from here and don't turn back" the grandmother says as the man tries to kick her off of his leg "I can't leave you and the village." Elizabeth wanted to run, she really did, but what she wanted the most was to protect her family. "My dear angel... fly away from this place" the grandmother says as she looks Elizabeth in her eyes before getting flung into a wall by the man "NOOOO!!" Elizabeth ran to her grandmother who had landed next to Elizabeth's grandfather. Elizabeth tries to wake them both up but... they don't respond.
"Ha. They were supposed to be your protectors? They were so weak and easy to kill" the man says as he laughs about killing the two most important people Elizabeth held dear. Elizabeth didn't give up on trying to wake her grandparents, but while she was focused on her grandparents something happened. From her back grew beautiful white angelic wings, above her head formed a pure white halo "what the" the man started to speak before a black wave of magic came off of Elizabeth when she screamed, realizing that her grandparents wouldn't wake up.
The man was hit with the wave of magic and started to cough up blood. Pain coerced through his body as if he was hit with power that could break through space and time. He roared in pain as it got worse and worse, soon his heart stopped and his body fell to the ground. The magic she had given off had killed the man, but he wasn't the only one hit with the wave of energy, everyone within the village grounds was hit with it; the single magic wave she had given off killed everyone in her village.
She sat there on her knees in front of her grandparents, crying. She had no idea how much time had passed when she heard movement outside of her home, she grabbed the man's sword and stood up "w-who's there" she said as her little legs trembled in fear. "Elizabeth" someone called out before they walked through the door, Elizabeth's eyes widened and she dropped the sword, the blade of the sword got wedged in a crack in the wooden planks. The person in front of her was her mother "m-mom..." tears started to flow again as Elizabeth ran to her mother and hugged her tightly.
"My little angel... what happened here? Where did you get that sword" her mother asks as she looks at her crying daughter, she gently holds Elizabeth and waits for her to calm down to be able to respond to the questions. After a few minutes Elizabeth tells her mother about what had happened to her family here, everything. "So that's what happened to the villagers... her fathers magicks must have awoken along with mine..." Elizabeth's mother thought as she looked at her friend's bodies on the ground. "Sweetie, we have to leave... it isn't safe for us to be here now" she gently picks up Elizabeth and walks out of the house.
Elizabeth wanted to fight and stay with her grandparents, and the village, but she couldn't because something inside her told her that she was the last survivor of Melik village. Instead of walking through the village out to the entrance to the village Elizabeth's mother walked through the forest right next to the house Elizabeth once lived in.

Hey little fairies, it's been a while since I've last updated any story. This is a new story as the background to Elizabeth Moon from my story "Forgotten Moon", it didn't seem right to leave you all with an ending without knowing the beginning so here it is. If you have seen the YouTuber named Aphmau you all probably know about her Minecraft Diaries she wrote back in March 2015.
Each month on the 24th I will be updating this book one chapter at a time. I want all of you to experience the story that took me almost two years to finish. I hope you all love the story and are excited for the next chapter on September 24th.
