"...And so, that's why we're on this boat!"

Amelia Watson and her partner, Mia Apollo, were currently standing on a fishing ship with a crew that they convinced to let them aboard.

They had been out to sea for more than a few days now but the reason why was only just spilt to the second in command.

"But... that's so stupid..."

"Oh come on, we're hunting an elusive beast! You can't say you're not interested in a half-human, half-shark thing! If we kill it and sell its body to research, we'll make millions and then we can finally retire and not worry about the loan sharks that wanna sell our hearts on the black market."

Mia put a hand to her chin and stared at Ame as she never thought about it that way, "Huh, true. Listen, I told you it was a bad idea to start a detective agency off of loanshark money."

"But that didn't stop you from following me! Now we both are gonna die if we don't pay up!" Her way too happy tone wasn't any help but it's not like Mia could do anything to stop this.

"Man, if you can just time travel, why not just save both our lives then?" Mia already knew the answer to that question but decided to ask anyway.

"Because where's the fun in that! Also, the watch has been acting buggy for a while, any time I've tried to go back to that certain time period, it just doesn't work. I can't save us even if I wanted too!" Ame gave a hard shrug with a sigh.

"Fine. Doesn't matter, as long as we're together-"

"You girls might wanna get below deck soon! I know you can see those storm clouds above!!"

They had been standing out on the deck with a nasty looking storm brewing. It already started getting a bit rocky and was only fated to get worse as time went on.

Rain was starting to fall as well so maybe the crewmate was right in that. Their target had yet to be spotted just yet so there was no reason for them to do anything just yet.

"Aye!" Ame yelled back like a pirate which got them strange looks but it's not as if the girls were dressed for the weather either.

Ame was in her standard uniform while Mia was in something a bit different. No hat, no jacket, with black pants, and black gloves covering her hands. the only thing that was the same between them was their shirt.

The girls swiftly headed below deck and got into their separate rooms and slept the night away...

Or that's what should've happened if they were awakened by the constant shaking of the ship, the loud stomping of feet woke the girls up as well.

And in their sleepy daze, they threw themselves out to the hallway only to realize that the ship was going down.

"At least give us a headstart!" Mia yelled to Ame who had an elated smile on her face.

Of course, that smile faded with Mia's plead. Time flowed backwards and Mia found herself in bed about a minute before she woke up.

She grabbed her bag and charged out of her room to see Ame already prepared in the hallway. This time, they really felt it since they weren't asleep.

The ship violently rocked almost as if a torpedo hit it but there was no explosion. They desperately wonder how they slept through something like that but now wasn't the time for thinking.

They kicked it into high gear as the ship started to go down once again. They charge up to the deck along with some others.

Heading over to the captain who was preparing the lifeboats with his crew.

"...Where the hell are we right now?!"

"A lot of ships had been going down here lately so I tried to steer us out of the way but it was already too late! Something's hit us and our only way off this wreck is the lifeboats. ...I have the feeling you two girls have something else in mind?" He was specifically looking at Ame's face who had a smile that simply said no good.

"No, we don't." Mia pulled Ame along into one of the lifeboats before they were let down.

Things didn't get any better as another hit shook them in the lifeboat. Mia, who was standing right on the edge of the cramped boat, was instantly pushed out of the cramped thing by accident by one of the crewmates.

With so much going on, no one had exactly noticed the girl missing.

But, below the waves...

The detective was holding her breath and opened her eyes as things almost seemed calm beneath the waves. Her eyes almost burst out of her head as she could faintly see what looked to be a city in her eyes.

"Atlantis?!" She instantly went back to holding her breath but the setting of drowning was already coming in with that small stream of water that slipped in.

She looked behind her only to see a figure dashing right towards her.

A group of them was swarming the ship but only one had come to attack her. She quickly put up her forearm as if this was some sort of dog bite but it was better than her throat.

The pain of having her bones crunched into dust wasn't a pleasant one and neither were the beaming red eyes staring right into her soul.

She reached back her left hand and shot the arm forward as a mountain of flames shot off her hand.

Nothing was in front of her once the water crushing her flames was done and whatever she had just killed obviously got the pack's attention.

Killing one was not the way to go as they all turned their attention from the ship to her.

without any motion from her right arm, her powers were completely useless on that side. Not only that, she was starting to feel that light-headedness from not breathing and the water in her system.

A hand suddenly grabbed her shirt and she looked up to meet the blue eyes of the detective that she's saved oh so many times. But yet eyes that have also saved her so many times...

The next thing she knew, she was back inside the lifeboat, and coughing up the water she swallowed.

The pain in her mangled arm was still there and she couldn't help but not look at it or she knew she'd really be feeling it. It was a simple placebo effect but it worked on her.

"Ame! My arm! My Arm!!" The fighter of the two quickly told the one who could reverse time.

"What! Holy shit!! Did a shark do this?!" Ame quickly reversed time on the appendage before the bite happened, "No, a shark would've taken the whole arm off... unless!!"

There was nothing stopping the girl from peering over into the water below even with the lifeboats shifting every second in a dangerous way.

"Ame, get down before you get your head taken off!"

Her interest would be her downfall as a half-shark would shoot out of the water and drag Ame down into the depths almost instantly.

Her pocket watch came loose which was the only possible thing to save the girl as they had no other items besides Mia's gloves and Ame's watch that could possibly get them out of a sticky situation.

Mia acted off pure instincts and dived over the edge in a haze trying to get her best friend back after she swiped the watch off the ground.

To the people in the lifeboats... those two would never be seen again. No knowledge of them and they were too worried about their own skins to care about two girls that suddenly appeared and went as if they were the air...

A simple resting place for their thoughts, they didn't feel good about it but there was simply nothing that could be done to help...
