Road to Hokage: Save the Hyuga Clan

Reunion

The hospital was active with incoming patients and medical teams tending to the patients. Moments ago, Lady Tsunade rushed into the Temari's examination room to tell Sakura she had to go to Hokage's office immediately. Sakura would now be in charge of the incoming patients' care. So far, patients were becoming stable or in the process of being released to go home. Much to Sakura's relief, Ino appeared by her side ready to help as Sakura as her second and assistant. Ino smiled reassuringly as Sakura gave her charts to three patients to monitor then left Temari's room.

"Are you sure?" Sakura asked Temari. "Take a deep breath." She placed one hand on Temari's back and a stethoscope to her chest. Sakura leaned in towards Temari to listen to her breathing. Temari gripped the edge of the examining table and did as she was told. Her throat still felt raw from the smoke but she inhaled. Sakura motioned for her to take an another deep breath. The second one was easier to do. Sakura concentrated her chakra into the hand. Temari felt the warmth of Sakura's medical healing  ninjutsu on her back.

"I know what I saw," Temari answered hastily. "Your village's anbu took Hinata! They practically kidnapped her. I told Shikamaru before he left the academy." Before Sakura could answer, Ino entered the room. Her face was flushed pink and wisps of blonde hair stuck to her forehead.

"Konohamaru is stable but still unconscious," Ino reported to Sakura. "Naruto is with him." Ino moved closer Temari frowning at her burnt blonde hair. She gingerly touched Temari's ponytail where black ends clashed with gold blonde.

"Naruto," Temari and Sakura both said with wide eyes in realization. Ino's mouth formed an "O" when she saw the other two women's reactions.

"You have to tell him," Temari hissed pointing a finger at Sakura before she let out another ragged cough. "This whole thing is out of hand. We can't possibly keep everything a secret from him now." Ino nodded in agreement. Sakura looked helplessly between the two young women. In frustration, she swiped her hair out of her face.

"Why me?! It was Shikamaru's idea to keep it a secret," Sakura retorted. "He should have to explain."

"But Naruto trusts you!" Temari shot back. "Your his old team mate. He would take it better coming from you. He is going to feel betrayed when he finds out."

"Speaking of team mates," Ino started. The door to the examination room swung open.

"Sakura-chan!" Naruto called, entering the room. The three women froze at his voice. Naruto pulled back the curtain to reveal them.

"NARUTO! You are not allowed back here," Sakura snapped clenching her fists.

"I know. I know. But I can't find Hinata," He said, with desperation creeping into his voice. Sakura's anger immediately evaporated. She glanced at Temari and Ino. Temari crossed her arms as best as she could with her injured shoulder and stared back at Sakura. Ino slightly nodded her head ,encouraging Sakura, before excusing herself to check on Konohamaru again.

"What is it? What's going?" Naruto asked, watching the exchange between the three kunoichi. "Did something happen to Hinata?!"

"Naruto, I have to tell you something," Sakura began, her green eyes solemn. She grabbed his arm and led him outside the examination room.

Sasuke stayed in the shadows of the nearest building. The smoke caught his attention as he entered the village and guided him to the old ninja academy grounds. The academy was surrounded by a protective barrier to keep people out while the Anbu examined the scene.

Suddenly, two anbu appeared in the schoolyard and approached the barrier. One was a woman with long purple hair that hung down to her waist. The other was a pale man with a giant scroll attached to his back and short ink-black hair. They both seemed agitated as they approached the group inside of the barrier. The man turned to point back in the direction of the Hokage's tower. For a split second, it seemed like the man noticed Sasuke in the shadows. If he did, he did not react and continued to talk to the Anbu. Once they were done, they walked away from the group and quickly disappeared in flash.
