I watched her as she played around with my hat, her brown skirts swishing as she twirled. I could hear her thoughts, something about butterflies?

"But I've never given you butterflies before. I can get you some if you like." I said, causing her to turn on her heel and look at me with a shocked expression.

"I didn't mean you physically gave me butterflies Cole." Y/N laughed, taking my hat off and placing it on my head.

"My stomach flutters as I look at him, he makes me feel safe, he makes me feel wanted, I'm hopeless, even his name makes me smile.Cole." I whispered, not realising the words coming out of my mouth. I saw Y/N blush and look away, before she got angry.

"Cole I told you to stay out of my head!" She snapped, her eyes shooting daggers into mine. I liked that even though she was frightened, she never removed her gaze from mine. She took a deep breath and regained her composure, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

"I'm needed in the stables." Y/N said calming, moving past me. How could she pretend that it never happened? I could hear her mind announcing that she was stupid, stupid, stupid.

"You aren't stupid Y/N." I said, putting my hand on her arm. "You know that you are smart, and just because I found out your secret, it doesn't make it any different."

She turned back to face me and looked me right in the eyes. "You're right." She smiled. I hugged her before letting her make her way down the tavern stairs.

"You make me feel the same way." I called after her quietly. I knew she heard though, the little grin on her face was worth more than a thousand gold coins.
