Tom was in trouble.

And he knew it.

If he didn't figure out what to do quickly, he knew something certainly bad would happen.

"But sir, I guarantee that I'm not the scribe for tonight!" He said, talking to a guard who had handed him an ink and quill.

The guard sighed. "Look, Your name is on the list!" He argued back. "Tomathy Aaron Gold, right? Who knows, maybe someone's trying to surprise you. But I can guarantee you that whoever put you on the list knew that you knew what you're doing."

He waved a hand. "The royals will be here soon, so behave." Then the guard walked away.

Meanwhile Tommy's mind was working like crazy. He thought to himself.

Did Wilbur set him up to this? Was this some sort of prank from him or... A surprise?

Tommy had tried his hand at being a scribe his whole life, but when money was a bit tighter in the kingdom he decided to become a paperboy to help support Will. D

id Will really do this for him?

Tommy smiled.

Even if he didn't, it didn't matter now, because his name was on the list and that meant he was exactly where he was meant to be, and not one person in the world could stop him.

That's when Prince Clay walked in.
