TEN

the pair sat on the couch in nini's living room. the sat comfortably, a small space in between them. nini was scrolling through tiktok, while ricky, he was swapping in between snapchat and instagram. that's what nini thought he was doing at least. ricky was just doing that to look like he wasn't just sitting there thinking about nini's situation with her moms. it made him think about how grateful he is for his dad and how he let's him do whatever he wants. 

"when are you moms meant to come back?" although nini seemed to be rather comfortable talking about her relationship with her moms, ricky felt extremely uncomfortable asking this question. a small sigh left nini's mouth before she shut off her phone and looked at the boy who sat next to her.

"could be in 10 minutes or in two weeks." she responded, twisting a piece of her hair around her finger. "i'm used to it now though, it's pretty normal for me to come home and they are just there." her eyes now focused on the couch that was in front of her. ricky thought it was probably best to stop talking about this now and settled on;

"do you want to go get milkshakes?" 

"sure." nini squeaked before jumping off of the couch. a lightbulb went off in her head. "wait, aren't you meant to be on like a diet before your game tomorrow?" she stood off to the side to where ricky sat. her long hair fell over her shoulders. her hands where intertwined with each other at the front of her body. 

"i'm sure one milkshake won't hurt." ricky joked, the corners of her lips lifted into a smile. "how about you go get some shoes and i'll meet you in the car." nini nodded in agreement, running upstairs leaving ricky to make his way to the car.
