The same feeling returned to his chest that he had been feeling for quite some time. Not sleeping much and working way too much was a common imbalance for someone in his place but this feeling was something different, something new. Even so, sleep was even more deprived as Charlie was still in the hospital. The longing feeling to see her, became apparent but he pushed it away knowing that this feeling was something he was unsure of and that wasn't a good thing in his eyes.

Getting out of his grey bed the familiar sight of his white walls covered his eyes, almost too pure for him to look at. Following his ususal routine, he exited the room and made his way down to the kitchen where the smell of toast filled the air. Being up at an early hour meant that he could eat in peace only today the kitchen came with noises, loud voices. His younger brothers laughs filled the room as he entered only to be pounced on by the youngest of the siblings.
"Ryder, help me, brothers trying to kill me!" she squeals as she hides behind his back.
"Will both of you sit down and eat!" Veronica (their mother) exclaimed. They both replied with a simple yes as they entered the dining hall across the other side of the hall.
"Thanks ma," Ryder stated as he nodded towards the chef, signalling to give him a plate of the food prepared.

He had his usual toast with butter and walked into the dining hall, only to be greeted with bows from all his men. A swift nod to them all they continued to talk amongst themselves, he could only imagine what but from knowing the men, it was probably best he didn't know.
"Goodmorning boss!" Danny says as he hands him a black file.
"Morning Danny, what's the update today?" Ryder questions as he skimms over the news. Whilst looking over the schedule, he realizes that there was only one meeting today and that was just the usual debriefing to all the people.
"Where's all the meetings for today?"
"Oh, there isn't any, they've all been moved but there is a lot of paperwork on your desk!" the sympathy in his voice came over clear as he was the one who handled all the paperwork when Ryder's father was in charge.
"Alright thanks."

When breakfast was all done with, the leaders of each team headed over to the meeting room to be briefed on the tasks ahead. The meeting was straight forward with everything going smoothly and no arguments over the tables, for once. Every so often, Ryder would lose focus on what was going on. It made them all look at him weirdly, which he didn't like already. With a cough from Danny, he was brought back into the present moment where he decided to continue without distraction.
"Umm boss, there is someone on line three for you!" one of the men hesitated as he walked in to give him the message.
"Who is it?"
"The doctor, boss."
"Alright thanks Mick."

"This is Ryder speaking?" his mind wanders to why they were calling him, when he would've been down there soon anyway.
"Boss, umm we have a slight issue that you might want to come and see-"
"What is it-"
"You would be better to come and see yourself," he begins, leaving a pause,"it's in regards to Miss.Hathaway"
"Alright, I'm on my way!"

Ryder hangs up the phone, sharply. They all look at him, with confusion.
"Danny, can you finish this, I have business to attend to."
"Sure boss-"
"Thanks." Ryder had already run out of the room by this point. Sprinting towards the hospital unit, he noddded at many as they turned their heads, to see their boss running for some unknown reason.

As he entered the desolate room, the same feeling (that he felt earlier) was building up but only this time it was stronger and harder to push away. Was she awake or still asleep? Was the question that ran through his mind as he ran down the halls dying to meet her eyes once more. He had no clue what this girl was doing to him, was it some manipulation or did she feel the same thing that he did?
Walking over to where Charlie was laying, a doctor came out from one of the side rooms.
"Aah boss, there you are!"
"What's the matter with her?" he anticipated that she may have woken up or the possibility ran through his mind that she wouldn't ever again.
"Well-"
"Just tell me, I haven't got time for your suspense."
"It would be better if I show you..." Pulling back the curtain that was surrounding Charlie's bed, the tension built in Ryder's chest as he was impatient ot see the difference that was such an emergency in the doctors eyes.
"She's gone boss..." the doctor explained as his voice traveled off.
"Well where did she go!" the anger in his voice arose as he glared at the doctor from the side of his eye.
"That's the thing boss, we don't know."
"Well who was watching over her!"
"No one sir, she was here all night and when we came back in this morning to see her, she wasn't there, that's when we gave you the phone call."
"Then we need to find her." he storms out of the room, infuriated that she had somehow gone missing.

Did she wake up and just decide to leave thinking that we wouldn't notice sooner or later? Maybe she was kidnapped or something? But that seems impossible seeing as they would have to get through all the night doctors, the night cameras, the guards, the sensors. That just doesn't seem right. No way she could do that herself, she has no training, no knowledge of the place. She hasn't even been in the building yet!
This could mean that it was an inside job, but for whatever reason they did it. Who was it? What did they want with her? She's just some girl who owes me a lot of money thanks to her parents. But it would explain the shoot out the second she arrived here... No one knew she existed until I metioned it in one of my meetings. This means that it was one of the team leaders, which makes sense because they have access to almost everything in this building. All of this is adding up but why?

Why her?
