Betrayal. They promised me they would stay by my side forever. They promised me and yet they betrayed me. I watched the world burn around me, my world was shattered and they were nowhere, no calls, no texts, nothing. Cut off. Betrayed. When I needed them they were gone but when they needed me I was always there. If you told me if you had said something I could've helped you. But now I must do what is expected of me. You left me! You left me in this world all by myself! All for what? But now you're dead I wish I could say you deserved it but, well, I have feelings.
I gripped my shirt tight hoping that would calm my throbbing heart as my tears streamed down my hot cheeks like a river of repressed emotions. I'm just waiting for them to come back. Wanting someone to say it was some sick, twisted joke.
The phone smashed on the ground as her heart sank to her stomach. I wish that I could help her, I know the ache of being alone. Life isn't fair sometimes, but fate is cruel and painful and this time fate has made her life callous. Poor woman. Her hair is draped over her eyes, like barnacles clinging to her tear-stained cheeks. Her mane of hair slowly brushed out of her eyes. "Umm excuse me ma'am but please could you come with me?"
"I'm sorry but I can't leave without them," her sobs fill the air as the clouds grow darker and her sobs grow deeper.
"Mama, mama look what I found!" the joyous laughter of a child appears as her mother looks up from her phone.
"What is it sweetheart?" she asks her daughter as she shows her the book she got off the shelf.
"It's a book, will you read it with me?" the little girl pleads to show her the usual puppy dog eyes.
"Sure princess, but then it's time for bed!" the young woman scoops the child up into her arms.
I'm sorry mum, dad. I have to leave you here now... but how can I when you are gone, gone like forever, never coming back gone. This was going to be the happiest day of my life but now look at you guys. Just there. Not going anywhere but down under, I suppose. Can't say you never deserved it.
Can they not do anything themselves? I told them specifically to warn them not to put two bullets in their chest. Now that's just a waste of my bullets. Just because they are hand made by my own hands, doesn't mean they can waste them on useless people who owe me money.
Well now it looks like I have lost over a million because of those two idiots but they'll be the ones to have a bullet in their chests later.
I remember the first time I met Mr. and Mrs. Hathaway. I have always wondered why they needed the money, it's a lot. That money could buy a house, buy a company over and buy a...
That's it! A kid! They must have one! Haha, looks like I'll be getting that money after all.
"Danny?"
"Boss, what do you need?" He spins his chair around revealing a dirty blond with blue eyes wearing black glasses. He's wearing a white tank top and black jeans.
"Need you to see if the Hathaway's have a kid."
"Alrighty give me a few seconds." The sounds of typing from his keyboard repeat in the same form of the pattern until he says he's done.
"So what have you found?" This room is quite dark but has so many action figures, you'd think he was a child.
"They have a daughter, eighteen, been through university, single." So they have a daughter hmm? Interesting, interesting. Looks like someone will be paying her a visit.
Weeks later.
What is it exactly that they were hiding from me? There is something and I know it. But what is it? Maybe they were billionaires, or maybe they were into drugs and alcohol. That would explain a lot really, why they were so distant, why they only wanted me when they needed me to do something, why I was always forced to be the best. What is it?
The phone started to ring over and over. Not stopping until she was to pick up the phone. Again and again. The room is filled with pain, sadness, and regret. The white walls felt grey. The plants frowned as did she.
Who is this? I don't recognise this number, maybe it's one of mum and dad's friends?
"Hello!"
"Your parents are dead they owed me money, bring all of it to this address or else."
Money? Parents? I don't understand what is happening. So my parents owe money to this mysterious guy and now I owe him the money. Okay, okay I can get through this. I just have to find out how much. Just have to hope it's not too much or I won't be able to pay.
Years Later
"Charlie?"
