Part 4: Missing Friend

Kieden:

The school didn't have lessons for three days. Two days after the murder, there was a funeral happening at a graveyard and a memorial for Mr. David going to be held in the school. We were all intended to go, we also had to make farewell cards for him. One by one we saw the body, placed the card in, paid our final respect and sat down. After the whole had paid their respect, his family came up to the podium to say their speeches, the five of us sat in the 5th row, I was in between the four of them. I was listening to the speech of his wife, "To my husband, David, I love you, my dear. I can't believe you are gone." She said before breaking down, her son and daughter were hugging her to comfort her, in the corner of my eye I could have sworn Derick grinning.  And not in a way that someone was cracking a joke, that lady is crying her lungs out and he is here enjoying the sadden. I turned my head towards him, and he was stone-faced. What? I just saw him grinning, is my mind playing tricks on me. I hung my head down, suddenly, my ear started ringing. Everyone has had their ears ringing but this time it didn't feel like the one I would usually have. My ear started freaking out, slowly the ringing turned into a ticking sound, it gradually got louder. I covered my ears trying to keep myself from making a scene, Maggie was sitting at the right side of me noticed everything that was happening, "Dude, are you okay?" She asked as she put her hand on my shoulder, "I hear ticking." I whispered to her, "What does the ticking sound like." She asked. I didn't understand what it meant, took me a few seconds to get, "Sounds like.... like, a clock." I said. Not even half a second later, the grounds beside the podium exploded. Everyone was running for their lives, I was rooted to the ground in shock. What is happening to me?

Derick:

 I graded Kira and made a run to my car, Nathan and Maggie made it there at the same time. "Where is Kieden?" Kira asked, "I thought he was with you two." Nathan said, "He is still on the field." Maggie pointed out. He was standing there completely still, Maggie ran towards him, she grabbed his wrist and tried pulling him out of the field. "Maggie, Kieden, hurry up," I shouted. I couldn't tell what Maggie was saying to him, but Kieden wasn't moving from there. By that time, the sheriff department had come with the bomb squad, "Guys, hurry up!" Nathan shouted across, "He is not moving!" Maggie shouted back. Mr. Stearns went towards Maggie and Kieden.

Maggie:

Kieden was standing there, no matter how much I pull him, he didn't move an inch, "Kieden, we can't stay here. Please, let's go." I said, "How did I know know that?" He asked, "Know what?" I ask, "How did I hear the ticking sound?" He asked, "We can discuss this after. Let's go." I said, pulling him, Nathan runs towards u and helps me carry Kieden towards Derick's car. We got into the car, Nathan, Kieden and I were sitting at the back, Kira was sitting in the front seat and Derick drove to his guest house at the foot of a mountain, the edge of the town. The whole ride there, Kieden was staring at blank space, "You okay, dude?" Derick asked. He didn't answer, we didn't know what was going on. We got to the guest house, Nathan guided him out of the car and into the living room. Derick made up an excuse to be Kira and brought her to the bedroom upstairs, when Kieden saw them going up, he stood up, faced us and said, "Guys, there is something wrong with Derick." "What do you mean?" Nathan asked, "When we were at the funeral, he was grinning. And I mean, psychopath grin, he enjoyed everyone crying." He replied, "What?" I said, "Not only that, when the ground exploded, he was the first one to run and he was enjoying the chaos he created at the side." He said, "Kieden, what are you talking about? Derick is fine, I see nothing wrong with him, how about you Maggie?" Nathan said. I didn't know what to say, I can't tell who is right, "I also see nothing wrong with Derick." I said, "No, no, no, no!" Kieden panicked, "Kieden, please calm down, we can figure this out." I said, trying to get him to sit down. He was holding his head in his hands painting and groaning like he is pain. "Kid? Dude you okay? You got to calm down, man. Take a seat." Nathan said, facing the other way, "There is no time." He said, "THERE IS NO TIME!" He shouted as he turned to us. He had razor-sharp teeth left to right, his hands had claws, but nothing could be even scarier than his eyes. His iris were bright orangey-yellow, his scleras were black, pitch black.  He started growling and coming near us, slowly, we moved back one step at a time. He kept looking at us, he was grinding his teeth together, Nathan extended his arm out and blocked me from him, "Kieden!" He shouted. His shouting made Kieden jerk, he started looking around confused, he looked down at his hands and saw the claws. He turned to the window and saw his reflection, "What's happening to me?" He asked, turning his face side to side, "It's okay, just stay here." I said. Without saying anything, he ran out of the house, we shouted out to him not to but he didn't look back. 

Kira: 

Derick and I were in the master bedroom, making out. It has been a while since we made out, you know, he has been busy with the ruby practice and I had to study, we didn't really spend time together. He was kissing me on the neck when I heard shouting from downstairs, "Derick, I think something is going down there." I said to him, trying to pull away from him but he pins me to the bed, "Don't worry, they are probably talking." He said, "Now, where were we?" He said, kissing my neck and moving down to my chest. I want to enjoy it but the people downstairs were shouting too loud for me not to focus on him, "I think we should and check on them." I suggested, "Oh, come on. 5 more minutes."He said, but I pushed him off and went downstairs. Derick telling me to stop, I looked downstairs and saw Nathan and Maggie freaking out, "What happened?" I asked, "I don't he ran off." Maggie said I could see Nathan wanting to say something but Maggie is stopping her, "We need to find him before he does something." Maggie said. Derick got his car keys and we got into his car. "Derick, I think Kid must be headed to town. drop me off at my house, we split. Maggie and I look for him on my bike and you guys can look for him in your car." Nathan planed. Derick quickly drove to Nathan's house, Maggie and Nathan get off and we started going around the town in the search for Kieden. Derick searched all over town for Kieden, we can't make a police report because he has only been gone for 2 hours. I called Maggie to see if they have any success but no, "Where could he be?" I asked, "Why do you care about him so much?" Derick asked, "What?" I asked, confused. Derick and Kieden have been friends since 1st grade, he cares about him the most, "What are you talking about?" "We don't have to care about him, he is doing this for attention." He said, "How could say this about your best friend." I said, "If you don't want to find him then drop me home." He got frustrated, he drove me home in silence. When he stopped in front of my house, I got out and slammed the door and didn't look back. I got into my house and texted Maggie to see if they had any luck. Maggie texted back, "We might have found something. Where are you guys." I texted for them to come to my house. 

Nathan: 

We got to Kira's house, Kira opened the door and led us to her bedroom, "Where's Derick." I asked, "Doesn't matter, what did you guys find." Kira asked, "Well, remember this?" Maggie said as she pulled the book we found in the basement. "Yeah, what about it?" Kira asked, Maggie, opened the last page of the book and showed it. Two drops of blood side by side, on top of it, was Kieden and Derick names, written in their own handwriting. "What the hell?" Kira said, "What did they do?" "They summoned a Nogitsune." I said, "It is called Kitsune Tsuki, which translates to Fox possession. There are many ways to get the Nogitsune to possess you, in this case, they used the median which is the book." Maggie said, "So they are possessed?" Kira asked, "Not both of them." I said, "We think that the Nogtisune is possessing one of them and the other is being controlled." "So like a puppet." Maggie added, "But how do we stop them?" Kira asked, "First we have to find. Who is the puppeteer?" Maggies said.
