Nogitsune

Part 6: What is going on?

Kira:

I am at the police station, cuffed onto the bench in front of the Sheriff's office, they asked me a few questions about the man in flames in front of me, I told them that I heard screaming went down and saw him in flames. I know I lied but I didn't want to spoil my friend's life because of a spirit if you could call it that.  I am trying to keep calm and not cry, I could hear Mr. Streans talking to his colleagues about the murder at the Restaurant, there were no witnesses nor figure prints on the weapon with was a butcher's knife, interesting. A few minutes later, Maggie walked in, I swallowed my saliva in fear, she kept looking at me. The officer at the front desk asked the purpose of the visit, Mr. Streans see her and leaves his office, "I know her." He tells the officer and gestures for her to come, "Why are you here?" He asked, "Mr. Streans, Kira didn't do anything." She said tearing up. "How are you so sure?" He asked, "Her wallet fell into the basement, when she went down to get it, she saw the guy in flames." She said, "But Kira said, she heard screaming and that was why she went down." He said I saw her face change. "We heard it, not to let anyone suspect, she threw her wallet down and pretended to take." She made up a lie. "Look, Mr. Streans. I won't be here if I am not telling the truth. She is my best friend, I can't let her life spoil." She said and started crying. I watched her and her performance, those crocodiles tears got under Mr. Streans's skin, "I believe you. After doing a figure check on the blowtorch, there were someone else's figure prints. I will let her go. Wait here." He said and went back into his room. The moment he went inside the room, she stopped crying and looked at me with a smirk, "Not bad, my acting is good."  She said she bent in front of me. "You know why I saved you?" She asked, I shook my head, "Well, I wanted you to see all the things we are going to do." She said, "Take out the amulet." She said. I was shocked, my parents are very regionals, they have focused me to wear an amulet with a statue of Buddha inside of it. "No. You can't get in me." I said, "Take it off." She tried threatening me, she tried taking it out herself but it shocked her hand. I giggled, she got angry and left, as she was walking towards the exit, a light black smoke formed from her feet and it moved up. It started changing her outfit, slowly into a different person altogether, before it left, it turned to me and I saw who it was. Derick. 

Kieden: 

I pulled Nathan and Maggie out of the crowd, "Kieden! It all started with you. What is going on?" Maggie asked, "I will come out clean." I said. It all started because Derick wanted to be popular and powerful, he wanted a lot of things, he'd talk to me about the things he wants but doesn't know how to get it. He figured that he would use a Kitsune to ask for these things, I told him it might not be a good idea but he didn't listen. One night, I went to his house as his parents called me or for dinner like every Thursday night, Derick didn't come out for the whole dinner. After dinner, I went to check on him and I saw him laying on the floor with an open wrist, I panicked. I took the knife out of his hand doing so I cut my figure, without noticing that my blood hit the book, I placed the knife onto the table and when I looked back, I noticed the wound had completely healed. I didn't what I saw so I left the house as fast as I could. "So, you were there the whole time and you didn't say a word to us." Nathan asked, "I didn't know if it was real or my mind playing tricks on me." I replied, "He didn't summon a Kitsune. He summoned Nogitsune, Dark." Maggie said, "This is not a messenger of God, he is against God." "What are you saying?" Nathan asked, "Thing that is possessing Derick is not a normal Nogitsune, it is the most powerful one, he has been tricking us the whole time by confusing us. We have to stop him before he takes full control over Derick." She said. 

Nathan:

We went to the police station and saw Kira getting released, we were relieved, she signed the forms and came to us, "Derick came here. We need to figure something out." She said, "Yeah, we know." Kieden said, "There is a ritual that will bind Dark together with Derick's spirit. We have to stop him." Maggi said, "But how?" Nathan asked, "We have to drive the spirit out of him, there is a lot of ways but most of them are to beat the subject until the Nogitsune comes out." Maggie said all of our eyes widen, "But there is a painless way. We burn pine leaves and make him inhale them until the Nogitsune is poisoned." She said, "We are going with that plan." I said. "Now we have to find Derick." To think further, we went to Maggie's house, when we got there, her mother was just packing her backpack to go to work, "Mom?" She shouted, "In the kitchen." She said, "Oh, hello guys. Where have you been? Derick here was looking for you." She said. There he was sitting on the couch, he turned to us and looked at us angrily, we walked towards the couch. He was covered in a blanket, it is 100 degrees today, I pull the blanket off of him and saw the was taped and chained up. "Mom, why is he taped and chained up?" Maggie asked, "Well, he tried to kill me. So, I knocked him out and tied him up, I was going to call the police but I figured I should wait for you." She replied, "Mom, what you did was great, thank you. I will explain to you everything after this is over, okay?" Maggie said he mother nodded her head, "Thank you, mom. Have a good day at work." She said as her mother left the house. We looked back at Derick, "You really tried. I appreciated the hard work but that is not enough." Maggie trying to control her laughter but she couldn't control it, all started bursting out in laughter, "Laugh all you want, but you can't stop me. in two days I will be taking your body, what are you going to do about it?" He said, "You are just a stupid spirit." Kira said. Derick, smirked at her said, "Let's see who is really stupid. I figure you should have found out that I am going to bind myself to our friend this Friday night. I'll give you a hint, we will be at the school." He said, he started laughing, "I like playing this game." I pulled Maggie aside, "Mags, I think we put him in your basement for the time being." I whispered to her, "But, do you think it can contain him? He could get out of it at night." She said, "Just to keep him so that we could plan everything. Please?" I said, "Fine." She said, "There is a pan on the stove, take it and hit him over the head." I slowly walked to the kitchen, took the pan and went behind him. "Have you planned what you want to do with me?" Derick asked, "Don't worry about it." Maggie said right before I hit him with the pan. That didn't do anything, he turned his head to me, "Are you that weak?" He asked, smirking, Maggie snatched the pan from my hand and swung it across Derick which knocked him out. "That's how you do it!" She shouted at me. 

Maggie: 

Kieden and Nathan carried Derick to the basement, sat him on to a chair, taped him to the chair and taped his mouth shut. They got up, I locked the door, making sure there is no way of getting out. "How are we going to stop this thing? We only have 2 days till Friday. And he is way too powerful." Kira said, "We only have two options, one we beat him to death or intoxicate him with pine leaves, but both of these are almost impossible." I said, "Why?" Nathan asked, "Because this thing is almost a century old, its tricks will be the death of us." I exclaimed, "We have to outsmart it, that is what we have to focus on." "Okay, when will he de don't the ritual?" Kieden asked, "It will most likely be at night, right?" Nathan asked, "Could be." I said. Then something hit me, I rushed to my phone's calendar, "It is the Lunar Eclipse on Friday." I said, "What about it?" Kira asked, "The day of the Lunar Eclipse is known to be the most common day where black magic and rituals happen. If he does this ritual on that day, he will be unstoppable and we will never see Derick."
