Chapter 1- Repetitive

Life had been pretty boring so far. It was a rinse and repeat cycle of school and your home life. You had different chores assigned to each day of the week, and if you didn't get them done, you'd be grounded in your room for a week. You didn't have a phone or any of the popular devices, either. You didn't even have a television set in your room. All you had for entertainment was the few books your parents had bought you a year back at your birthday, and if you were being honest, you absolutely hated reading.

Speaking of birthdays, your next one was in a week, and it was your Sweet 16. To most teenagers, that was a huge milestone, but you couldn't care less if you were being honest. Sure it may be the year where you can finally start driving, but that was about it. You really weren't looking forward to looking for a job, either.

You groaned as the familiar light of your room flickered on, indicating it was time for yet another day of school. Your mom stood in the doorway, waiting for you to actually get up like she normally does; another thing you're just used to at this point. You threw the blankets off of you, slowly sitting up with a wide yawn. You wipe the sleep from your eyes and stretch your elbows out immediately after standing up, seeing your mom smile and walk out, and you turn around and flop right back into bed.

"I don't wanna get up yet" you groan to yourself, throwing your arm over your eyes, your knee propped up. You peek at the light through the bottom of your arm, wishing it was the weekend. You then glance at your small alarm clock on your nightstand. The time read 5:30 am. You groaned loudly at that, your usual wake up time was 6 am, so why were you woken up so early? That's when you remembered your Mom had a doctor's appointment to get to, and soon. Then again, if you had to, you could get one of your friends to drive you to school, or you could always catch the bus. You had several ways to get to school, so it confused you why you got up so early. You set your little clock's alarm for 6:00, knowing your mom wouldn't bother trying to get you up again. She figured if you didn't bother to get up, she wouldn't bother to take you to school if you ended up late.

6 am couldn't have waited 5 more minutes could it? You groan as your alarm blares in your ear, waking you up from your 30 minute slumber. You sit up, eyes heavy with sleep, and yawn. Monday mornings were always the worst. You tread with heavy steps to the kitchen to get yourself a cup of coffee, seeing a note by the pot.

Dearest Y/N,

I left for my appointment but there's breakfast in the refrigerator. Have a good day at school, hon! I love you <3

You roll your eyes, tossing it in the trash once you read it. You loved your mom, but she always wrote the exact same things and it was getting repetitive. It was getting annoying. Then again, your life was repetitive so you didn't really have a problem with it.

You open your refrigerator to see a plate of food: Toast and eggs. The usual. Of course. What else would there be? You grab the plate and found the grape jelly, popping the plate in the microwave to heat up. You set it to 30 seconds and hit start.

Your eyes then widen suddenly as you remember that you hadn't started the coffee yet. There was no time for that now, anyways. You currently had 15 minutes to get ready for school and that time was for eating and choosing an outfit to wear for the day. The microwave beeps, signaling that your food was hot, or at least it should be. You take it out and, as usual, its steaming with heat. You smile slightly as the sweet smell of hot eggs invades your nostrils, making your stomach growl. You brought your food to your room and set it on the nightstand, eating a few bites before picking out your outfit.

For you, picking out an outfit was an on-the-spot kind of thing. You didn't fish through your closet the night before and you weren't picky either. Today's outfit consisted of skin-tight jeans and a red and white striped sweater. You had ruffled socks and white tennis shoes. Finally, you found your favorite piece of clothing, your flower crown. It had a mix of red, white, and black flowers patterned in such a way that felt just perfect to wear. That's why you wore it every day and everywhere you went.

You reached over after picking out your outfit and ate some more eggs, leaving only a few bites left. You got out of your pajamas and folded them up for tonight, laying them down on your pillow. You then pulled your blankets over your stacked pillows and PJ's before taking the last bites of your eggs. You then take a bite of your toast, putting your jeans on. You slip your sweater on over a white t-shirt you picked out last second and finish off your toast. You then grab the now empty paper plate and dumb it in the trash can in the kitchen, checking your clock again.

You had to leave... NOW!? You rush to your room, grabbing your bag and lunch money. You quickly stuff it in your coat pocket and swing your coat over your shoulders, quickly thrown on your socks, shoes, and flower crown. You hurry out to the front door to hear the school bus pulling up, coming to a stop at your driveway. The doors slowly swing open and you climb up the steps, looking around for an empty seat. Behind you, you hear the doors close but pay no mind to it. You finally find a seat in the back and sit by the window. You lean your head against the window and close your eyes, not caring about the discomfort.

I'll be at school before I know it
