The New Guy (Ranboo x Reader)

Chapter 2: Friends

"Hey, uh, we're at school so..." You feel a gentle hand on your shoulder, shaking you slightly. The voice of the man was soft and British. It was rather deep as well. You open your eyes to see dark, curly hair and a gentle smile. You smile back shyly and recognize him from one of your classes. You then recall what his friends call him.

"Thanks for waking me up, Eret." you respond, standing up and grabbing your bag. He smiles at you and nods, offering his hand up. You take it gratefully and stand up in the aisle, just realizing how tall he is. You were shorter than him, but not by much. You peek to the side to see a small bisexual flag on the strap of his bag and begin to get excited at the fact he would support you if you came out to him as pan-sexual. That was such a nice feeling to have, too.

"Of course. I'm actually surprised you know my name. How'd you find it out? I know for a fact this is my first time talking to you." he asks, tilting his head slightly with curiosity.

"I've heard it around; we're in the same class after all. 2nd period math, I sit 3 rows behind you." you tell him and his eyes grow wide, realizing who you were.

"Oh! You're Y/N! The teacher picks on you most of the time I've noticed. Are you any good at math?" You walk with him down the steps of the bus while making conversation when you see your best friend waiting at the front door. You quickly nod at him and motion towards your friend.

"That's Alexis, my best friend. Thank you again for waking me up. It was nice meeting you!" you shout as you run off towards your friend, waving back in his direction. He waves back at you before making his way to the gymnasium for his first class, physical education.

"Who was that handsome fella~?" Alexis asks you and you scoff with a roll of your eyes. You can't help but smirk though as the thought of Alexis and Eret.

They would be a cute couple if they knew each other... Maybe I'll introduce them one of these days. That is if Eret keeps talking to me...

You glance at your friend as you walk through the halls, seeing nobody that you know really well besides Alexis. "That was Eret, he was the guy that woke me up on the bus."

"I noticed he had a small bi pride flag pin on his backpack. Do you think he's bi?" She asks you and you raise your eyebrow at her as if the answer was obvious already.

"Well, if he had the pin on his bag, then he's most likely bi, Alexis. Most people won't wear specific pride flags like that unless that sexuality applies to them. I noticed it before, too." you tell her, stopping at the door of your class. You hug Alexis bye and step into the biology classroom and sit down by yourself as you normally do.

Just when class was about to begin, a tall boy with thick hair that was swept to the side ran in and looked at the teacher with worry. "Is this biology?" he asked breathlessly. The teacher nodded, telling him to introduce himself to the class. He begins to stutter, silently begging the teacher to just let him sit down, but she won't let him. "Uhm, ok then. Uh, my name is Ranboo and uh, I like to play Minecraft. I actually have a YouTube channel and I'm a Twitch streamer, so you may recognize me. Uh I think that's all... Yeah, that's all." He looked nervously around the room, seeing that there were about 4 students who seemed to have the reaction of, I just met a famous celebrity. He smiled and waved at the group. One girl squealed, another passed out, a guy waved politely back that wasn't in the group before realizing the dude wasn't waving at him and sheepishly put his hand down, while the 3rd girl of the group tried to shake the 4th out of her trance.

All of this was new to you. YouTube? Twitch? Who is this guy and why is he so popular? Is there something about him that attracts people, and if so, what is it? All of these questions and more were rushing through your head as he made his way over to your seat and sat down, briefly smiling politely at you. You figured you'd ask him about it all after class.
