Calla saw Rafe walking up to them, she tried to avoid eye contact and focused on the boy in front of her. He came closer before bumping into her making her drop the cup in her hand. Calla stood there, confused as to why he would do that when there was plenty of room for him to get by.

"Oh uhm my bad you were just in my way," he said sarcastically, fronting a snarl.

"What the fuck man, you did that on purpose", the mysterious boy argued.

Calla clearly saw Rafe getting frustrated as he ran his tongue over the top row of his teeth. "Maybe if this bitch would've moved, I wouldn't have came near her." Rafe responded, getting mad at the fact that the boy Calla barely knew was trying to protect her.

After all, Rafe did know Calla. No matter how much he didn't want to admit it. They did have history.
They actually used to be really close when they were younger, even though Calla was a pogue at the time. Explaining why he felt a little protective over the girl.

Her mother and Rose, Rafes stepmother, used to go to school together. When they both had kids they were together a lot. It was when they were about 10 when Rose and Calla's mother had an argument. Calla nor Rafe had no idea what it was about, but her and Rafe didn't see each other much after that. It was probably their parents unkind words towards the opposing family that made them hate each other.

Calla knew she should intervene when Rafe stepped towards the the boy. "Alright that's enough. Rafe can you just leave us alone? You obviously did it on purpose but I don't even care anymore..just go away."

Rafe stepped back, eyeing the beautiful girl that gave off her usual goddess aura. He gave the boy a look before stepping back. The boy next to her giggled and that was just enough to send rafe over the edge, grabbing the boys bicep, pushing him the opposite direction.

"Let's talk." Rafe took him away, to the side of the house glaring at Calla. She gave him a dirty look, disappointed he was taking away her temporary pain reliever for the night.

She grabbed another beer out of the cooler, once again scanning the populated area for Kie. She couldn't see her so she dialed her number again, watching her surroundings to see if Rafe and her 'date' would come back.

"Hello?"

Kie where the hell are you?"

"Oh shit la. I'm so sorry I totally forget about the party. I got um distracted with JJ, he went to Luke's and came back with - just a lots happening." She said frantically.

Oh, is JJ ok? What happened?" Calla questioned, concerned.

"I'll explain later, just have fun and don't worry ok?

"Okay tell the group I love them," she said as she hung up.

She sighed, disappointed in herself. The one night she wasn't there something happens to one of her best friends. Her anxiety spiked, she quickly walked into the bathroom. She stared at herself in the mirror before the pit in her stomach churned, causing her to crouch down by the toilet. She stayed in there for a couple of minutes not wanting to risk getting sick in front of all those people. She couldn't stop thinking about how she couldn't be there for her friends when they were always there for her. She could head over to the chateau now, but on her bike it would take an hour and it was too dark.

She heard a knock at the door. A slight feeling of relief washed over her body, thinking that she would open the door and stand face to face with her date, Max.

She quickly opened it before seeing Rafe. Calla looked around suspicious of what happened to her hookup. "Rafe, where's Max?"

"Max? Oh yea um Max went home.. he told me to tell you." He said quickly running his fingers through his hair, turning to walk the other way. She grabbed his wrist turning him around to face her so she could get more information as to where Max went. She glanced down at his hands seeing the red marks on his knuckles. Her gaze switched to his shirt where there was a small amount of what looked like blood. Calla loosened her grip, backing up. "Rafe?" She said nervously.
