Achlys. A name fit for a king, or a knight. Someone powerful or extremely cool. The seemingly 19 year old boy sitting in the tall tree in the middle of the forest, however, was neither of those. The glance of the sunlight that hit his skin gave off a burning feeling, but not nearly as bad as he has seen others of his kind get burned by it.

Achlys jumped down from his tree and walked around for a few hours, doing absolutely nothing but ponder in silence. He ignored the feeling of nerves that grew larger by the second. He hadn't seen him in so long.

Without him, these trees didn't mean anything. Neither did the glowing sun or the cold night. All he had without him was the lonely hole inside him.

As soon as the sun set achlys dared to get out of the woods, walking into the open field that layed next to it. The sun was gone but the moon hadn't peeked out of the clouds yet. It was the ultimate dead time. Dead time being the part of the night where no one is outside, and everything is pitch black. It was achlys' favorite time of both day and night, because it gave him the freedom to use his own abilities without anyone seeing it.

He ran through the meadow, trying to get his energy out a little. the light of the upcoming moon shone upon him, highlighting his pale complexion.
He looked up to the moon, his one eye dark and gloomy, the other white and reflecting the shine of the moon, the scar along it clearly visible. Achlys was pacing, restless even, waiting for the person he desired to have the most.

Achlys'face shot to his right as he heard someone approaching. It would either be someone meaning to hurt him, or the on he had been waiting for.
He smiled at the sight of him. "Easton. You're here." the excitement was audible in his voice after not seeing him for so long. Despite the fact that Easton was human, and he was not, they had an incredible bond that deepened every second they were together. "of course I am. I wouldn't miss you for the world, " he responded, throwing himself into achlys' arms.

The warm embrace between the two men made both of their hearts race, their blood pulse, sending shivers up their spines. But neither one cared. It had been too long since they were able to meet up, see each other in person, be able to touch one another.
The feeling of Easton's skin was a whole new sensation to achlys. He had known him for years now, but the longing he had felt multiplied his feelings and senses by a thousand, if not more.

The memories of their childhood friendship flashed before his eyes as he smelled the sweet scent of Eastons blood running through the veins in his neck. He had always loved the smell, but he knew it wouldn't be right to feed on his friend. And for some reason, even if he was absolutely starving, he could always withstand that urge. Perhaps he just loved Easton too much to think of possibly hurting him.

Or perhaps, achlys was something else. He was the only one of their kind who was able to walk in broad daylight. Not without consequences, but he didn't disintegrate the second he got into the sunlight.

it was with many things that he was the only one of his kind to be able to do them. sometimes, it felt as if achlys was more human than he was vampire, even though he deep in his heart knew he would always remain a creature of the dark. the embrace he and easton were still in, holding each other tightly, would feel suffocating to any other vampire he knew, yet for him, it felt like a cool breeze on a hot day. a day so hot even they could feel the pressing feeling of it deep in the forest. it was something achlys had longed for for a very, very long time.

him and easton had never been accepted. either as friends or as lovers, they had always been judged for one thing or another. and besides that there was still the fact that easton was forbidden to associate with vampires. or anything that wasnt human, for that matter.

''i missed you.'' the sound of achlys' voice was muffled, as he nuzzled his face into easton's neck. despite him being quite a bit taller, he always loved the feeling of being small that easton gave him. ''i missed you too. its been far too long, darling.'' the fact achlys wasnt fully human had never bothered hi, not even once. easton had always been an open minded, all loving person, who wouldnt ever judge someone on something he knew nothing about. easton was simply put the perfect boy anyone could wish for.

The flame flickering not far away from the field startled achlys. It was coming closer. Hastily he grabbed easton's hand and tugged him along in the direction of the woods. "come on! Someone's coming!" the words were hissed at him, being afraid of making too much noise. If they ever got caught together, Easton would be put under surveillance, as well as everyone going on a witch hunt not only for achlys, but for all of his kind.
