"We can't just leave him" Allison protested twisting back round again to glance at the principal

"He's drunk" Joe shouted "he won't even be able to walk in a straight li-"

"Lower your voice and carry on walking" I whispered "are you trying to get us killed?"

The rest of the group walked off in front and I fell behind just to keep an eye on Joe.
"When are you going to tell them?" He whispered bitterly when

"What are you talking about ?"I tried to look as confused as possible, but I'm no actress

"You're bitten" he matter of factly gesturing towards my scarred arm

"What ? No. If I was infected I would have gone with the rest of the group" I argued

"But you didn't" he looked me up and down as we got to the bottom step "you're putting us in dang-"

Before he could finish his sentence the main door smashed open with such power that the noise echoed eerily throughout the hall to reveal a large, decaying zombie. The stench invaded my nostrils making my chest and nose burn. It was awful.

"Guys" I whispered "don't panic"

The decaying beast, had dark brown hair, it's face was torn to pieces, it's lips and nose were completely gone, revealing bones and sharp pointed teeth which were covered in the horrible red liquid. It twisted its head in attempt to detect any signs of movement

"I don't think it can see us" Will whispered grabbing hold of my sleeve,

I gulped, maybe he was right, if he could see wouldn't he be running over by now? "let's take turns to run out to the exit, that way it won't make as much noise" I whispered keeping my vision on the zombies soulless eyes as it made a crackling noise from the back of its throat.

"Good idea" Kyle agreed. Being the first one in line he carefully pulled his leg forward avoiding any creepy floor boards.

One Kyle had found a path using the floorboards that did not creak we all followed in unicison slowly trying to avoid any sudden movements which may indicate our presence. We all successfully avoided creating any loud noises including myself but when it got to Joe's turn the creature seemed increasingly active and had become restless in it's position near the entrance doors as it limped forwards slightly it's leg cracking viciously.

"Be careful" I whispered a thought of dread came into mind. He's not going to make it.
He slowly lifted his right leg, holding his breath as he went. Creek. The screeching sound of the floor board moving beneath his red converse filled the air. "No" he remarked, turning his head briskly to see the zombie picking up speed and taking of towards him, leaving a trial of blood behind him as he went
"Run" I screamed as loud as I could, there was no point whispering, the zombie already knew where we were and horror and frustration had taken over me.
Joe sprinted towards the door, trying to avoid the rabid eating machine chasing after him, as he got closer to the exit his legs were pulled from beneath him, sending him flying onto the cold floor boards and making a loud cracking sound which made my ears sting.
My heart stopped, it felt like the whole world was crashing down before me, but I had to be brave and try and save him. My vision blurred as I pushed the horror out of my mind and ran as fast I could towards him, I grabbed his hand tightly as he grasped at me for help desperate for help, pulling with all my might , I struggled to stand up. A deafening breaking noise echoed throughout the hall followed by the corpses screaming as I fell down onto the floor, my sight going black. My heart fluttered, was I being attacked by the zombie too? What happened?

I moaned in pain as I mustered up the strength to pull myself of the icy floor boards, I spun around to see Joe peel himself from the floor and limp next to me as we ran as fast as our legs would carry us out of the door.
The cold air, wrapped around me like a soothing blanket as I stepped out onto the rocky terrain, sweat poured down my face covering my top. Joe slammed the door hard behind us sending the zombie head first into it as it closed.
