The next day at school, Bella planned to confront Edward to find out what his problem is. To her dismay, he wasn't there.
She leans against her red pickup truck, sharing and earbud with Annabelle as they watch the Cullens pull into school with their Jeep. Emmett jumps out to join his girlfriend and they all walk up to school, giving the pair of girls a weird look.
The same routine happens everyday, Bella and Anna switch on who drives, Bella looking forward to seeing a specific person, that specific person not being there, weird looks from the Cullens, sitting with friends at lunch and going to separate classes.

Annabelle says goodbye and walks down the street to see Bella walking out out her house. Charlie parks the red truck and gets out. Just then, Bella slips on a patch of ice and falls on her butt. Charlie and Anna both go up to help her.
"You all right?" he questions with a light laugh.
"Yeah, I'm good. Ice doesn't really help the uncoordinated," the brunette responds, brushing her clothes off.
"Yeah, that's why I had some new tires put on the truck. Old ones were getting pretty bald," he explains, kicking the tires for emphasis. "Well, probably be late for dinner. I gotta head down to Mason County. Security guard at the Grisham Mill got killed by some kind of animal."
"An animal?"
The Chief walks to his police cruiser and opens the door then looks up at his daughter, "You're not in Phoenix anymore, Bells. Anyway, I figured I'd lend a hand."
"Be careful."
"Always am."
"Thanks for the tires," Bella says. Her dad nods and gets into his police car.
"If you want, you can have dinner with me," Annabelle suggests as she gets into the truck. "I'm sure Christian will love to see you."
"Yeah, that sounds good," the brunette smiles and takes off to school.
When they arrive, it's pouring down rain and everybody has raincoats and umbrella, shielding their bodies from the harsh cold wind. The blonde teen's cowboy boots get water all over them as she enters the school.
They say their goodbyes as they split off to Biology and History. Bella gets sucked into a conversation with Eric when she notices Edward Cullen sitting in his seat. She goes to take a take a seat next to him and he introduces himself to her surprise.
Annabelle takes her seat in Mr. Peters class in front of Jasper and Alice Cullen.
"Hi, Annabelle!" the overly excited voice of Alice makes the blonde girl swivel around so she faces her.
