"So, I found a bookstore in Port Angeles that might have some answers," Bella explains as she slams the red truck's door shut.

"Why are you so determined to figure this out?" Annabelle asks, also hopping out the car.

"Because he's hiding something, and I need to know how he saved me."

"Ain't the man allowed to have a little bit of secrecy?"

"Well, yes, but it still wouldn't explain how he was able to get to me so fast. It's not a normal thing, Annabelle."

The blonde sighs, "You're impossible."

"No, he is."

Anna pinches the bridge of her nose and sighs in exasperation. The two girls make their way to the school entrance and then out to lunch where all the students bask in the rare sunlight. Tyler is playing soccer and even Jessica is sitting atop a picnic table.

The sun in Forks is quite an unusual sight as it's always cloudy, gray, and just over all gloomy. Which is why this small town that barely even shows up on maps, is the perfect place for vampires. They don't have to worry about being mistaken for being covered in glitter every day. They're allowed to live lives, even if they are hindered.

Christian is very excited because it's sunny. He wants to see what Jackson will look like in the sun. He's just too curious for his own good.

"He's not here," Jessica's voice breaks Bella out of her search for a specific person. "Whenever the weather's nice, the Cullens disappear."

"What, they just ditch?" Bella asks, fiddling with her apple.

"No, um, Dr. and Mrs. Cullen yank them out for, like, hiking and camping and stuff. I tried that out on my parents. Not even close."

"Guys, I', going to the prom with Eric. I just asked him; I took control," Angela says with a bright smile on her face, sitting down next to Bella.

"We told you that would happen," Annabelle softly smiles back. The glasses wearing girl hugs Bella.

"Are you sure you have to go out of town?"

"Oh, yeah, it's a family thing," Bella explains, slightly cringing at her own reason.

Annabelle bites her lip to keep herself from laughing out loud.

"Okay, we should go shopping in Port Angeles before all the good dresses get cleaned out," Jessica announces.

The school bell rings. Everyone starts to pack up again, Tyler grabs the soccer ball, Jessica climbs off the table, and Anna grabs her backpack. "Port Angeles? You mind if we come?" Bella asks, still fiddling with her apple.

She has something with the apple, Annabelle deduces.

"Yeah, duh, we need your opinions."
