"oh— shut it, will you?"

"We are not one step closer to finding out who this is."

McGonagall looked at the girl in front of her, then to the headmaster. "Albus, I believe we're at the point where we must close the school!"

"Hold on," Malice interrupted. "Close? You can't close Hogwarts! We have exams coming up!"

"Now now, ladies. I don't believe we will close just yet, for I have an inkling that this will resolve itself soon."

"What are you on about, old man?"

"Miss Fallon!" McGonagall cried.

"Sorry. What are you on about, Professor?"

"To put it quite simply, I believe that the Ministry will be on their way right about now. They're planning on removing me from this position."

"They're what?!" Mai shrieked, attempting to hide her grin. "Does that mean that Professor McGonagall will take your place?"

Minerva looked taken aback. "Fallon," she warned.

"What? It's only a question."

"It's possible, yes. Of course, I do hope to be reinstated," Dumbledore looked out the window. "Ah. I believe the minister is here now, oh! And accompanied by Mr. Malfoy. What a lovely surprise. I shall go join them," The man pondered out loud, raising from his seat and making his way to the door.

"Um, Sir?" Mali called. "May I join you? It's been a while since I've seen the Minister, and I'd like to exchange pleasantries."

"Yes, you may. Come along now, Miss Fallon."

As Malice Fallon walked alongside Dumbledore, she realized that only the Minister was waiting outside of Hagrid's hut. "Sir, I thought you said that Mr. Malfoy was here?"

"Oh, do not worry, Malice. He will be here shortly. Cornelius!"

The Minister looked on the brink of a heart attack, which to Mali seemed to be a common expression for the man. His hair was mussed, and the young Fallon couldn't help but wince at the pairing of his pinstripe suit and horrid purple boots.

Maybe I'll become Minister, Mali thought. At least then people would know that their leader is capable of dressing themselves.

"Ah, Albus. And Miss Fallon? To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Mali turned on her most charming, brilliant smile, and went to meet the man as an old friend. "Minister! Why, Mum's been telling me of all the pressure you've been under lately, and when Headmaster Dumbledore told me of your presence on the grounds, I thought I ought to come and say hello. I'd only hoped to provide you with a greeting from someone who didn't wish anything from you, as well as a friendly face."

At this, the Minister seemed to relax a bit. "Well, it certainly is lovely to see you, Miss Fallon. And my, you've grown to be a charmer! I haven't seen you since you were nine, but I can see that Rosalie has done a fine job with you."
