9:30 P.M.
~Ryan~
"Ma'am, are you going to eat that?" The restaurant owner said as he rolled his eyes.
I started to eat a piece of chicken, but I started to feel weird. I kept eating it to put food on my stomach with the money that I did have left in my pocket.
Good thing I left some cash in my back pocket. I guess I had forgotten it a while ago.
"Yeah but—"
"We are closing in 15 minutes. I'll be back with your ticket." He said as he interrupted me and rolled his eyes.
I sighed as I looked around. Nobody was here, but myself and a beautiful black couple. They looked happily in love.
I started to eat a couple of big bites as I started to looked for cash in my back pocket.
I only had ten dollars left.
"Damn." I said as I sighed.
The couple stood up as they got ready to go. The man came to the front to pay for the ticket while the woman took their trash.
"Here." The guy said as he threw the ticket at me.
"You don't have to be rude." I said as I rolled my eyes.
He ignored me as he went to the cash register.
I double checked my pockets to see if I had more cash on me. I don't.
I checked my ticket.
"$16.25? Really?" I sighed as I cleared my throat.
"Yeah, the prices are a little high, but the food is great." The woman said as she smiled and walked over to me. She had sort of a limp as she walked, too. She looked too young to be limping like an old lady.
"Yes ma'am." I said as I fake smiled and cleared my throat again.
Something didn't feel right.
"I like your necklace! I have on the exact one like it." The woman said smiling.
I looked down to see a broken heart.
"I forgot I had this on. My mom has the other half I think." I said as my breathing started to feel weird.
"I had one with my mom, too. She probably threw it away." The lady said laughing a little.
"Babe, you read—"
"Hey Kid, do you have my money? Let's go!"
"I—I—"
"Sir, that isn't a way to speak to someone." The woman said as she folded her arms.
"Yeah, yeah, give me my money, little girl."
"I, um, don't have enough. Is it hot in here!" I asked as I tried to clear my throat again.
"What? See! This is why I hate serving kids! Give me my money!" The manager said as he started looking angry.
"Hey Man, I'll pay for it. She's fine. Leave her alone." The man said as he pulled his wallet back out.
The manager rolled his eyes as he and the man walked back to the register.
"Honey, don't worry. My husband will take care of it. Where are your parents?" The woman said as she sat across from me.
"My dad—My dad is mad at me. My mom—she—I don't know." I said as I held my throat.
"Mad? Why would he be mad? You seem so precious."
