"We're gonna have a baby!" Carina yelled right after she realized what her wife actually said and finally looking at the positive test.
Maya laughed in the most genuine way, which made Carina even happier than she already was.
She saw Maya growing as a person, as a Captain, as a wife and now as a mother.
She looked deep into blue eyes and saw the overwelming love that Maya was somehow already feeling for that little growing embryo.
And she aknowledged that everything that happened in her wife's past wouldn't effect them, especially not the love that she'd feel for their kid.
"I think I'm just gonna cry." Maya spoke after a few silent minutes raising her hand to wipe a falling tear. "Sorry." She chuckled
"Oh no bambina, don't apologize. It's the most wonderful miracle." Carina answered reaching for her wife's cheek to stroke it.
"And now what do we do?" Maya asked smiling. She thought that that smile would probably never fade, ever.
"Now we're gonna have some mindblowing sex." Carina spoke smirking towards the blonde who raised fast enough to make the chair they placed in the bathroom fall back.
She leant down on Carina and grabbed her to get out of the bathroom and on bed.

"You are my sunshine,
my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are grey.
You'll never know dear how much I love you,
please don't take my sunshine away."
She thought about the last verse of the song, enphasising it. She had been thinking about Carina's words right after they came back from the hospital after the implantation and she was hoping so hard that it would work, knowing that otherwise it would probably break her wife.
Maya had been singing the past few minutes moving her fingers on Carina's naked belly.
She didn't do it much often, and usually only in Carina's presence, with such a soft voice that would eventually make the brunette fall asleep or even cry.
"Will I ever get used to it?" Maya chuckled with her head pressed on the italian's chest looking at her own moving fingers.
"To what bambina?" Carina asked a little confused and disappointed that her wife had stopped singing cause she was falling asleep.
"To loving them." The firefighter answered placing her whole hand on Carina's lap.
"No, I don't think you will." Carina laughed and smiled wide moving her hand to caress her wife's hair.
"It's just...I didn't know it would be so good. It's like the best feeling in the world and I don't want it to fade." Suddenly her voice was an octave lower and sadder.
"Hey, why would you say that?" Carina raised her back a little so that Maya would move her head to look into her eyes while she spoke.
She felt her heart speed up a little knowing that she had to tell her wife what her mind had been thinking about since they left for their honeymoon.
"Well because you said not to get too excited if it doesn't work.
And also because..." She stopped and took her eyes off of her wife's findgeting.
"Bambina." Carina reached her chin with two fingers to raise her sight back to herself.
"Because...?" She tried to help the blonde to keep talking.
"What if...I don't know in a few years from now, once the baby is born...I just do to them what I already did to you...and hurt them?"
She managed to say hoping Carina would understand what she was trying to say.
Even though it wasn't entirely comprehensible she felt finally relieved.
