To Andy it felt like the automatic doors were opening too slowly for her to rush in where her friend needed her.

And when she was finally able to cross them she immediately spotted her Captain walking towards the elevator with a purse that clearly wasn't hers.

"Maya!" She called to make her stop.

The blonde turned around and when Andy was finally able to see her face she saw how devastated she was.

"We need to go upstairs, they're taking her to surgery. So I have to be upstairs, but I don't know what floor, and Doctor Wilson handed me her bag and I don't know what to do with it. What do I do with it?"

She spoke so fast that it was hard for Andy to actually understand every single word, but she understood that her friend was panicking and ignoring everything she just held her tight in a hug.

Maya stayed still for a second before backing out and moved her hand to press the call button of the elevator.

"I don't have the time Andy, I have to go upstairs."

Her friend looked at the blonde without knowing what to do to help her, but she had eventually understood that something had happened with Carina.

Once the elevator had arrived they rushed in and the latina pressed the button to the surgery floor.

They stayed inside it in complete silence, and the blonde could hear her own heart beating in her head.

And a part of her started to think that it was her fault, maybe she had done something she didn't even remember that had caused the bleeding.

But then the elevator opened once arrived and she ignored her own thoughts to get to the waiting room hoping that Doctor Wilson would show up to tell her anything before going to surgery.

Andy followed her best friend in silence, just to be there for her whenever she needed it.

They reached the seats and Maya put the Doctor's purse on one of them without then sitting on any of the free ones.

The floor was crowded and all the doctors that were walking around were too loud for her ears and she couldn't focus on anything.

She thought for a second that she was having a panic attack but it wasn't the place nor the situation to have one, so she swallowed hard, took a deep breath and moved towards the doors that would lead to the ORs to see if any of the doctors that were treating her wife were walking there.

But nobody was in sight so she walked back to the chairs and just sat there.

Andy reached out her hand to place it on her thigh and she felt that Maya was softly shaking, trembeling.
And she felt her heart ache for her friend incapable to do anything to relieve any of her worries.

A second later Doctor Wilson walked out of a supply room or something and spotted Maya. She took a deep breath and went towards her.

The firefighters raised their sight when they realised someone was approaching them and immediately Maya stood up.

"We are trying to stop the bleeding. I don't have much to say cause I can't literally say anything yet but I need you to tell me her blood type now that you are here."

She knew that it wasn't enough, but there was nothing else she could actually say, and reassuring a relative always was the worst idea a doctor could possibly have if they weren't sure that the situation was under control.

"AB positive. She's AB positive." Maya spoke so softly that Jo could barely hear but loud enough for her to.

"Thank you Maya. I'll have someone coming outside every ten minutes tops to update you."
